Both mine and Wizzo's are on preorder from Play.com ... but unfortunately we're going to Stratford the night before so we don't get shafted by traffic on Friday, so no WoW for us!

That's if it comes out on time of course... ;)

It's only worth it for certain titles where we need a load for internal use too. MMORPG's don't tend to sell many clanservers so cheaper to just buy from play.com, who sell at silly price anyway :)

The thing is, mmo's aren't data intensive, they average about 1k/sec over an extended period of time.
You'll have maybe 10 players absolute max at stratlan wanting to play...you can't spare 10k out of 120?

Don't forget there's the COH contingent as well! Also there are other people at the lan who will be wishing to web browse, msn etc and also the odd request for Wizzo to grab a new patch.

..However rumour has it that the net may be opened up at night for your mmorpg pleasure.

Oh yeh btw Luci did you know XW had a 'lan' recently... which resulted in them all dlding WoW, haxing some beta signups and playing that solid all weekend. Now, i'm not saying that I wouldn't mind playing some WoW but if it's at the expense of playing other lan games (and i'm not just talking about dota!!) then i'd rather wait and play WoW at home.

True, I really hate people who start game same time as me and they get shocked to death theyr lvl 50 and I lvl 5 still.

I a slow take my time person, view everything take it all in and apprechiate it all.

Centaur does suffer a bit at the start from "glass jaw" however pop him with some speed, some extra hp and later, a heart of tarra...and he developes a nasty diamond jaw.

Furion is just cheese, as is medusa, ANYONE and i mean ANYONE can own with medusa, and furion isn't much further off

Yeah lots of people start off liking SA, Medusa, Clinks. But then they come to realise the difference in gameplay you can get out of the rest. Personally i play melee hero's if in AP (usually play AR) Centaur has been done to death, sven is easy, leoric, just no! Don't let me use him again, make the bad man stop!

Though the beauty of Dota that is no matter how good one player is the team can turn it around, i mean after last nights furion cheese near godlike run our team managed to kill him 3 times straight and push deep into the enemys base. They won in the end (but that's a balance issue that will hopefully be sorted in 6.0).

Chen is a beaut of a hero as well imo, though expect to take all of the flack

got chen in an ar game last night.. he's alright but his ulti is a bit weird..

he's not supposed to be a massively immense all consuming hero, double up with a melee hero in a lane, especially one with cleave and you'll push straight into their base. A couple of voids is all this guy needs. You can go either purge or crit if you're sharing a lane and either will keep the enemy away.

Abuse? the whole point of chen's ulti tho is to 'persuade' scourge units! It says you can have up to 25 units persuaded at a time...

I don't see how something can be classed as abuse if it was what the ability was designed for?

...shame you can't persuade roshan ;)

Abusing CHen is stacking units to form a wall at the base, then releasing a wave of 100 creep to win the game.

I don't really see that as too much of an abuse of chen tbh, as at lvl 6 you'll have at least one person with a half decent area of effect spell, let that rip a couple of times and then you've got one very minted opposing player.

Any player can persuade the centaurs as well, it's the helm of the dominators spell attachment. I guess if you want an easy way about it grab a few of them and stomp away. The problem for the oppostion comes when they let you get 2-3 kills from it and out lvl them in experience

Indeed. Early one, when I didn't realise blocking the creep in was abuse, I did it to over a hundred creep, the sentinel base was soo full they were spilling out of other exits.

So the sand king comes along, walks up the wall , earthquakes and gets 4.5k gold from it. OOOOOOOOOOOOPs
