Hey Guys

The game is released on the 11th of April, just in time for WoW LAN, I mean Stratlan. Us multiplay chaps are continuing our guild on the retail game, details as follows.

1. Everyone on the same server if possible
2. Were all going Horde (Fun fun)
3. Were all having professions that help each other

For example im going as a Tauren Hunter with skills in mining and engineering branch. The rest of you please clarify what types you think your going as and the professions your doing, so we can get this sorted.

Many thx

Quick question Limited...you do know Warlocks don't wear leather? :)

IF I get a copy (since unlikely to be able to play Euro on my US account straight away) I'll go either

Druid or Shaman.
Probably with mining & skinning and just supply you lot with all the goodies.

Tauren Druid

Probably with Skinning and Leatherworking.

I'd like to go for Enchanting, but as I've discovered in the beta, it's quite a hard profession to progress with, and there's nothing that really compliments it as a second profession.

To start with you can only enchant bracers, and then you still need to find loads of green enchanted items to disenchant anyway (and these items would probably be better of either being sold or traded around the Guild).

What do you think?

Lucifa

Enchanting goes well with tailoring as tailoring requires no gathering profession.
However enchanting is a very big money sink, requiring either losing money by disenchanting magic items or buying cheap greens off the AH to disenchant.
Nothing wrong with not taking it.

I'll play tauren warrior or hunter.

Probably skinning and mining

We seem to have a lot of skinners, this is good. A healthy supply of leather com,ing in can either be sold of used by the majority of professions.

We also need someone who is prepared to spend time fishing ...

Anyone not going over to the Horde?

I quite like the night elfs, yes I know I can have two chars but it does take up more time....... Although I suppose if I kept it to just two charecters it would be to bad.

Probably go as a Tauren Druid

Blind

Well I too was going to do skinning/leatherwork but with my Shaman but I detect a lack of Warrior types with mining/blacksmithing.

If warrior undead - if Shaman go Tauren (I think).

Might even play two charcaters but this would involve massive amounts of time.

I'll see what others fancy and fit in.

As I said on another thread - most people seem to be wanting to play horde but if on another server can't someone set up an alliance guild.

This is on the proviso you can swap factions between servers as in the beta.

Undead Warlock.

Enchanting and Alchemy

Fishing takes tine and patience, something I dont plan on doing in game. However if we are to be an almost self sufficent guild we will need specific fish for recipes, therefore a single person with a high fishing skill is required to get them.

Update: Im going Tauren Engineer and Leatherworker

I plan to buy all of your leather and ore from you guys and make bits for you all. Always wanted to be "the item guy", and I will make myself such cool shizz for my gun ... :)

We will need many miners, herbalists and skinners, and maybe a weaponsmith and tailor to make cloth stuff for our mages.

Just a few thoughts guys ...

Update:

After talking to everyone on Teamspeak this evening, will probably go Enchanting and Tailoring.

p.s.

Kahless, you might want to rethink your combination, cause you're probably better off going Herbalist if you want to do Alchemy, so you can gather the reagents you require to make your potions and stuff, instead of having to buy them.

looks like a seriously good game, may have to get it.

Can you get lapdancing as a skill?

I'm thought I'd do alchomy as no one else has that yet, and would help restore my health/mana as a Warlock. But speak to ya tomorrow about it, especially as no one has herablism yet. maybe tailoring.. we'll see

Im thinking of being an orc warrior with skinning and mining hehe

Dolph

It sounds like there's a shortage of herbalists / alchemists. I'm happy to do both of these. I'm probably going to be undead, although I haven't decided on a class yet.

Just a thought - would it be worth having one group of people who are solely gatherers (herbalism, skinning, fishing, mining, etc.) and then a second group of people who focus on manufacturing (alchemy, leatherworking, cooking, engineering, etc.)?

I'm not recommending this as such - I just thought it was worth suggesting. It might be more efficient, as a gather could gather potentially three different materials in an area, e.g. fish, leather, ore, and then hand all of this over to someone else who could manufacture a load of stuff with all that material.

It probably would make each individual less self-sufficient, but might be beneficial in guild-terms.

Anyway, I wanted to suggest it.

Cheers,

Andy.

Definately going Undead Mage.

Not sure about professions yet, enchanting has been SO expensive :(

Lucifa
4th February 2005, 10:30
The problem with not being self sufficient is that if several people start to play less, or not at all then those with only manufacturing professions are screwed.
I've seen it happen many times with my own clan and mpuk on City of Heroes and DaoC. New game comes out..everyone goes wooo and plays it for a month, then those that have never really played an mmo before or have never expressed an interest in playing one drift off and cancel their accounts.
As it is, I probably won't be able to join you from the start without a) buying a new copy of the game, something I don't know if I want to do or b) blizzard telling us how US accounts can play on Euro servers, something they tell us will happen 'sometime' after the release.

As for fishing, unless someone is really willing to put time into doing it, time which could be spent doing other things, it's not really worth doing. It's only supposed to be just something else to do in the game and isn't really required.
Pets can be fed from meat from kills, and the odd alchemy receipes that require fish aren't all that useful. You'd be better off just buying any fish you want off the Auction House.

/cynical

Oh and tip: don't get mining and herbalism together, and possibly don't take either of those if you are a hunter. You can only track one thing at a time :p

Cant you just set the file (will edit and find out which file when i get home) from US to EU for the server lists ? that was what happened when i switched from US beta to EU beta. it was <something>.wtf

ShadowMan
4th February 2005, 12:20
I'll be going as a troll warrior.

i'll be taking skinning and leatherworking and fishing. (i actually like sitting for a few hours clicking and listening to music :))

Only going a troll as I want a Raptor at lvl40.

See you all in Azeroth

Lucifa

That'll make my install work yes.
It's my account I'm more concerned about :)

Quietus
4th February 2005, 16:10
I'm flexible, don't mind playing any character if needed, I was thinking of playing a priest and getting herbalism/tailoring though.

Towneh
5th February 2005, 11:22
In trying to make sure that my character will be the best that I can make it, I stumbled across the following pages which show the stats and information for each race:

Orcs -

http://www.worldofwar.net/characters/orcs/index.php

Looking at the stats here shows a good balance of stats for str, agi, sta, int, etc. The armor level isnt as high as the trolls but it looks like the increased melee attack tries to compensate that.

Trolls -

http://www.worldofwar.net/characters/trolls/index.php

The biggest thing thats stands out here is agility for this race, especially for the hunter and rogue classes, you may want to consider troll if you are going to play a character that needs dodge.

Undead -

http://www.worldofwar.net/characters/undead/index.php

Doesn't have as good strength for this race than the others, but it looks that the increased stats in spirit and intellect, may mean this race is better for the spellcasters such as mages, priests or warlocks.

Tauren

http://www.worldofwar.net/characters/taurens/index.php

Cant really see any distinguishing features for this race, except the fact that this is the only horde race who can play Druid and that they have the most strength too.

If people could have a look at this and try to come up with their own thoughts on the races/classes of the horde, then please do reply :)

I'm not sure which class yet, probably druid again or hunter, but I'm happy to be a herbalist and alchemist again as the later potions are very useful.

hello all

As see by the posts that noone has come up with a server to join yet..

As i am very keen to play on the same server as mpuk(Coz it will be a good laugh at LANs etc), i would like to put forward the method of how me and my guild are getting togther with all the other british PvP guilds, that we have built up a good footing with in BETA.

Basically all we have said to do. Is on friday, sort the server list in alphebetical order, then choose the second PvP sever from the top.

Bare in mind i have only put forward this suggestion if you are stuck for which server you are going to go, and dont have the relm list. I dont exspect you guys at all to go on this server. But i was just putting forward what we are doing and if you are looking for to see alot of British PvP guilds on one server.

we are going horde btw.

Alphabetically 3rd PVP server seems to be a popular choice as well for UK people and the Warcraft 3/WoW closed beta elite.

edit: balls to that, #wow.uk are going on the 3rd server.
