Due to a recent development, in that school children will be present on the 5th of September, a number of people have expressed a desire to move to the 11th of Sept.
so I have narrowed the dates, and I propose that these dates be confirmed at stratlan.
Please reserve comments for the original date thread, and mearly post in the poll.

There are always lots of kids about, its a Theme Park  . I still say, go beanz, 2nd weekend in september, theme park was quiet, water park too. Previous two trips were good @ this time, why change when we know what to expect?

so what are the officla dates to be booked?
And how much does hotel(s) confirm price to be.
Is it sun + mon nights? as in 2 nights, 3 days?
And when can we get into the room and when do they boot us out of the room?
Elbonio
31st January 2005, 15:36
by the looks of things you'll need to book off Sunday 11th September to Tuesday 13th.
Arrive sometime on Sunday, sleeping Sunday and Monday night.
Depart Tuesday afternoon.
Last year based on 6 people per room it work out to be £105 per person for the two nights.
IIRC you can get in the room from 4pm on sunday i think? Possibly earlier (I have 1pm in my head too) and have to be out by 10.30am on tuesday
Your park tickets cover from opening on Sunday to closing on Tuesday though so you can stay in the park until 6pm on the tuesday.

right the way it works this year
it is £101.50 per person for 2 nights and 2 days in the park you do not get your departing day included in the park as of 05 season.
the water park is included for all 3 days.
if you wish to use the park on the 3rd day you can buy a day pass for the disscounted rate of £15 upon arrival at the hotel.
Our room is all sorted. v thanks

I looked on website to book it, and the Splah Landings only seemed to go upto 4 people to book.

From what I remember of '04, the rooms consisted of a double bunk, a king-size bed, and a fold-up sofa/bed, which is 4 people, so I'm wondering where the 5th and 6th people in rooms are sleeping?
btw I pre-emptively call shotgun on either top or bottom bunk in the room I'm in. Afty, if you give me any of that official shotgun rules crap, I will give you a cleveland steamer. or force you to watch dodgy porn.

The people on the bunkbeds should be the peaceful sleepers. In my experience they squeak REALLY loudly and if you've put people on them that turn over every 5 minutes then no one is going to get any sleep.
I think it's my turn to use the king size bed this year?

What a rip-off, you are not likely to use the pool on the final day as you lose the "room" at 10am. Why have alton tower changed policy this year? :(.. It sounds like "feature creep", each year remove 1 feature and hope people dont notice, soon we will be paying £100 just for the room, everything else will be extra.

I still can't believe we have to pay for swimming towels now. How is charging £1 for rental going to stop theft? I haven't taken any in previous years but I came away with a large cheap bath towel last summer.
But I want to go on this new ride so of course I'll be going however much the towels cost. :)
Elbonio
19th February 2005, 00:01
towels for £1 sound good
of course if they were willing to give me my £1 back i'd be willing to give them their towel...
lyn
19th February 2005, 09:50
I would have thought that charging people for towels would encourage theft. You have paid for the towel so it's then yours.
