Planetarion was beyond bad - basically multiplayer abacus where the group of players with most beads at the end won.

I haven't played this for a year or so, but
www.darkgalaxy.com
is a far, far superior game in a similar vein.

I always quite like Planetarion despite it being "simple", That's what i want in a web browser game, something simple that i can check up on now and again :)

lol we all played it. I spent every possible seccound of the day to check my account, but there's always a leeter anorak able to be logged on 24/7 without regard for the outside world or sleep :p

it got to the point where i was getting up at 4am to launch attacks and going back to bed

its partly responsible for my D in a/s level maths

I'm with Elbonio on this one... I was usually up at 3am-4am every night sorting out cluster defence. My total tiredness contributed to me losing my job at the time.
I don't "do" online browser games or MMORPGs. Anything that takes longer than an hour to play is BAD IMO.

Back in the days when PA was at its height (and free), I admit... I have gotten up at stupid hours in the morning to launch an attack before :)

Same here :) well, the getting up at stupid times in the morning to launch attacks/start research. At one point i put my PC next to my bed to save me having to get up. Only problem was id have to leave it on during the night, because if i woke up, rolled over and turned it on, id be back asleep before windows had loaded.

I can slowly seeing this game taking over me... Its so darn addictave... apart from the times when you have to wait. But i like them, they give you time to do other stuff!

its b/c most of the mpuk bunch joined mid-round, fair way bit through the round - i.e. the top few people were 20-40mill points :/

I get withdrawl symptoms now again in college.... Not as bad as when planetarion started to cost money. Evil gits... get you addicted then increase the price, genius yet evil.

It looks like BT have again taken the internet lines down for our internet connection and as such the TGE War server is unreachable. They hope to have this fixed by the end of the day.
