A friend of mine is skiing in Les Arcs this week (not far from Bourg St Maurice, our train station, and just one peak away from Tignes) and has just texted me to say they've had THREE FEET of snow in a day and a half.

It's looking good gents, mighty good.

And of course, ladies.

I was there over Christmas and it was amazing - really good resort, so many different runs and quite a good social area in le lac (the main bit of tignes). We had 4 days of snow before we arrived and that lasted us all week - would have thought you guys will have loads by now.

Until 48 hours ago the snow reports were pretty dire - now it appears it's snowing cats and dogs and will continue to do so for a few days.

Just want it to warm up a bit for us now, as skiing in minus 10 is something I've never done before :)

The Annual MPUK Ski Trip is good for the alps. Every year we've had fantasic weather and at least fairly good snow.

This year I suspect the boarders will be happier with more powdery stuff than the last couple of years, and us skiers get to lean back alot ;)

Skiing in -10 is cold but nothing special, just wrap up warm etc

It's not so much Im worried about being cold, it's just that it's clearly not going to be the same as 15 degree sun-out weather of joy that we've had 2 years running :)

Maybe this will be the first ski trip i've been on where it's actually snowed whilst i've been out there!

If it's not windy you won't even notice -10. That's still sit outside a mountain cafe on a bench temperature.

After 10 minutes you might get a bit nippy unless you're in the sun, but don't get scared and go out on the first day with 4 jumpers on - you will boil.

Weather report does indeed look good - rar etc.

Eeek, personnel in the field just left a day early, conditions were so bad. On the upside, this means we're bound to have FANTASTIC snow when it clears up :)

If conditions are "bad", does this give me an adequate excuse for skiiing like a total girly loser? :D

But you ARE a total girly loser, thats the whole point! :D

If weather conditions are bad, then skiing should be easier, if conditions are 'blizzard like' then you have an excuse.

Currently the BBC Weather website has Tignes conditions as : blizzard.

OMG.

On the upside, there is lots of powder!

surely this will clear by the tiem we get there to give us THE most perfect skiing snow around?

It will certainly clear up, when is the question :)

The weather reports look like the last of the constant snow will be on Saturday, then snow showers for the next few days, with the sun finally coming out later in the week.

However one of the weather sites reckons no snow and some sunshine from Sunday onwards.

I love weather reporting
