Best transformer ever

I personally think Optimus Prime, just so damned cool. But unicron is a close second.

Possibly the best looking die-cast metal transformer ive ever seen, about 10" to 12" tall, with a f*king huge gun to boot.

Also being a plane you can run around the playground, arms out-stretched, screaming "WHOOOOSH" and "PYAAA PYAAA" at the top of your lungs, which you cant (well not really) with the more ground based models.

My personal favourite was Starscream (the F15 jet).
And Skoffin, it was Shockwave, not Soundwave. He held the little vulture/tapes inside him. :)

shockwave was the purple gun that you could only get in japan (like jetfire iirc) i actually played with both :)

soundwave had ravage, lazer beak etc inside him (oo'er)

Soundwave definately.

Nerdy (younger brother), finally got the Japanese reissue a few months back and it's even about the same size as a walkman :)
He's only wanted one for about 15 or so years :)

He was one of my favourite Autobots back in the day, mainly because he was the only autobot jet at the time (if my memory is working).

Mildy interesting fact, it was pretty much a straight copy of the VF-1 from the Anime series Macross, with just the markings changed (I beleive the company behind transformers licenced it as they wanted a jet for the autobots and they had an ideal one readily available).
