Is that true? I know that characters created in beta can sometimes be left certain things or perhaps a percentage of their existing levels when a game goes Gold.

It would really depend on each developer though, any idea if this is the case with Blizzard?

blizzard did say that all characters would be deleted and you would have to start fresh. I might be wrong though

Yeah, all chars will be deleted at the end of the beta.
Otherwise on Euro launch there would be a ton of people with level 60chars and a ton of gold to sell on ebay for a ridiculously inflated price.

I use the beta's to try each of the races out and the different skills etc, then once the game goes live you know what you want to do.(well hopefully)
