some of mine. They're all .exe flash projector files, all virus checked so dont worry. Just click each thumbnail to download the movie.

The John Donne Era

Ok the first five flash animations i did for general release were all about a poet we were studying in English called John Donne. At the time I found him so dull and irritating (having donne him to death) that i needed a way to vent my frustrations, these first 5 animations were it.

John Donne Prototype:

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/donne0.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/donneboom.exe)

This was the prototype. Really is as simple as it gets. Just me testing out the format - didnt actually release this at the time.

John Donne I - "Cannonisation"

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/donne1.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/Donnemovie1.exe)

"Cannonisation" was a poem by JD and I felt the irony of him being killed with a cannon was too good an opportunity to miss. Note the use of midi music, which is common for my early work, for reasons i can no longer recall.

John Donne II - "A long, long time ago..."

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/donne2.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/Donnemovie2.exe)

A star-wars themed version of John Donne coming to a sticky end.

John Donne III - "Fan-tasia"

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/donne3.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/Donnemovie3.exe)

With this movie i started to get a bit more adventurous and put more detail into the cartoons. In this episode JD clones himself for a laugh but then his mini-clones beat him to near death.

John Donne IV - "Johnny And His Adventure In The Sky"

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/donne4.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/Donnemovie4.exe)

This animation was significant for two reasons - firstly it was the first time i really drew any backgrounds or colour, and secondly it was the first time i introduced the teachers from my college into the movies. The one featured is the then head of sixth form Mr. Richards. He is shown being a giant villiage destroying Godzilla-esque creature, who brings about the demise of John Donne by pulling off his limbs and poking him with them.

The Teachers Era

The final John Donne movie was the one that got a little bit more attention from the people at college - bringing the total viewers up to a reasonable 10-ish people. It also brought about the end of the John Donne series as I realised I could have more fun with the teachers (and they were starting to piss me off more than JD was)

Noddy:

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/noddy.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/noddy.exe)

Noddy was really when things started taking off. Nobody had really ever done this before - with Flash still being used sparingly on the web nobody at the school had really done much of it. So to see these bright, colourful animations of the teachers getting mowed down by the maths teacher who looked like noddy, was a revelation.

The teacher who is Noddy was Mr Andrew - Maths teacher and network admin. He was somewhat of a knob and yes does look a lot like noddy. The people getting run over are Mr. Richards again, Mr Stewart (geography), Mr crompton (headmaster of the school) and finally Mr Dyson making his first appearance holding a cup of coffee. He was always drinking coffee and thus from henceforth in all my animations he's always got a cup in his hand.

Interesting to note the wheels on the car go the wrong way.

Chipmunks:

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/chipmunks.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/chipmunks.exe)

Following the success of Noddy I had a bit more pressure this time so tried to make sure that the quality of animation was better. Noddy had been circulated around a good half of the sixth form and so when Chipmunks came out it immediately had a bigger following.

It involves Mr Dyson (alvin) and Mr Eaden (simon) the physics teacher and our friend, Mr. Andrews (theadore). They are the chipmunks as they bear an uncanny resemblence imo. They then go on a death killing spree, slaughtering, Br Barnes (chemistry), Mrs Ganitski (maths), and Mr Shanker (geography - a very VERY strange guy).

Oh and Mr Richards gets run over as he's leaving with a knapsack - this is becuase he left the school at this time to go to another job in Newcastle.

Pinky And The Brain:

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/pinkybrain.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/pinkyandthebrain.exe)

Pinky and the brain is about Mr Stewart (pinky) and Mr Crompton (the brain) going on - yes you guessed it - a killing spree. Not only do they look exactly like pinky and the brain but they also act like them too. Mr Stewart wasnt the brightest button in the box and Mr Crompton also worked as a Magistrate at the courts so ou can see why he was headmaster and, arguably more prestigously, The Brain in this movie.

The end is a bit naff but by then i cba iirc.

Shootin' Hole (game):

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/shootinhole.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/Shootinhole.exe)

My first and only flash game - Shootin Hole.

This actually represents the height of the popularity of my movies. Pinky and the brain had been sucessful enough to penetrate into the schools viewing population aswell as the sixth form and consequently this shootin hole game became even more of a problem. The website I had set up to display these animations (audenshawschool.com - nabbed before the school got it ;) ) became blocked becuase of this game, which apparently was being played in IT lessons, and lunchtimes and .. well.. all the time by lots of people from year 7 to year 12. The teachers who had so far cut me some slack suddenly started making noises along the lines of "dont make any more".

Nevertheless I had to do a finalé...

Postman Pat:

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/postman.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/postmanpat.exe)

I was coming to the end of my time at Audenshaw School and although I had been warned not to make any more I couldnt leave without one more killing spree.

In this movie Mr Eaden of Chipmunks fame is postman pat - and boy is he pissed! Chainsawing Mr Andrews for good, Whacking Miss Andrews my most despised person in the world at the time, and giving Dyson a run for his money with a taser this flash had it all. Also becuase I had now started using 60fps in my movies (which i sitll do to date) the smoothness is noticable.

Not only is it the longest but it was the most popular of all and, i am told, can still be seen being played even today around the school from time to time.

Also making brief appearances are Mr Barnes picking his nose, Mr Tighe and Mr Gregory (whom i thought I would make into a gay couple just for a laugh) and right at the end Mrs Ganitski again.

The After College Years

After college I needed something to keep me going animation wise - i had just lost all my audience and all my subjects.

My Little Tony:

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/littletony.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/mylittletony.exe)

This was around the time of the Iraq war so i thought i'd be clever and do a political flash. It's okay i guess but not much cop really.

http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk/oldstuff/pt.jpg (http://www.parachutingtrees.co.uk)

Parachutingtrees became, and still is, my main focus and outlet. Started in the last year of college it's now grown. Four years down the line and it has close to 150 animations on it and is my pride and joy. I wouldnt swap this website for all the tea in china and now has become a brand in itself which i intend to put everything I do under in the future. Like the parachutingtrees DVD for example.

So there you go, a brief history of my work. There are a few other things i've done over the years - if you're interested let me know and i'll send them to you, but they're not that much good really.
