Any of you chav scum out there who like that bloody "Crazy Frog" ringtone that you somply can't escape thanks to Jamster's ****ty adverts, you're all too young to remember the original (http://www.boffbowsh.co.uk/insane.swf)
That frog needs to die
Cabe

im gonna end the twat that decided to do the advert, then cut off the ******** of the animator that made the frog.
the original is like 23986420185438597431x10^437 times better.

26th December 2004, 05:18
so i'm not alone then!
some guy at work HAS it as his ring tone (yes he's a chav) and i heard it and went ahh that's the insanity test from the net to which he replied no it's not it's crazy frog...

her0n here..
I heard someone with that tone on the bus the other day! I did wonder why they had the insanity test as their tone...
crazy frog? never heard of it. What does it do?
Baz
26th December 2004, 11:58
£3.50 a tone and they send you a new tone everyweek which is a bastard to stop
they must be making some serious cash to have put about 3 ads on in each ad break on xmas day mind!
but yes - die frog i fskin hate you

The absolute worst thing is that these cockends put their ****ty adverts on MTV2. I mean come ON, is there ANYONE who watches MTV2 that is going to want any of their tat? On second thoughts.. I suddenly feel the need to have an Eric Prydz ringtone. Sign me the hell up!
tiSSue
26th December 2004, 12:26
i know its so ****ing annoying, they have adverts EVERYWHERE EVERY BREAK on sky, long live insanity test!
TE-Hellfire
26th December 2004, 12:35
Is it me or does the crazy frog have rather obvious sexual organs for a cartoon character?
Oh and btw, whoever made that sound effect should sue Jamster because they blatantly stole it and it must remain the "intellectual" property of whatever tard recorded it first, but if it screws Jamster in the ass and gets that stupid advert off of the telly, I'm all for it.

Insanity test? I just remember this from a ****ty flash animation yonks ago where the guy was imitating an F1 car.
Elbonio
26th December 2004, 14:05
I know
the first time i saw it i spat out the food in my mouth and shouted NOOOOOO!
they have RIPPED off an internet classic and put it to some stupid marketed git frog and now *everyone* keeps showing me this frog going "omg this is the coolest thing ever you HAVE to see this" and i'm like "look i saw it 5 years ago, when the technology to even MAKE that frog didnt exist ok?"
and then they usually say "er... but this is new...."
it's at that point i squirt acid from specially hidden ducts on the side of my head and hisssss at them
The frog needs to die.
Let's all write in to the advertising complaints people and make lots of complaints against it forcing them to take it off air.
andyf
26th December 2004, 14:35
Whoever made the original should sue the crap outta the ring tone people and destroy that ****ing frog. Talk about stealing credit for someone elses work ...
RTO
26th December 2004, 16:01
my bet is they've gained a fair wad of cash out of it. If not, yes, sue the bastards.

Ive seen that frog advert, i was round gleeny'd house playing poker (he has sky, i don't) then it came one. both of us were instantly went "insanity test rip off"
Internet gets it first then the real world exploit it.

£3.50 a throw * number of stupid morons who waste money downloading ringtones = a lot of stupid morons.
This is just ONE company cashing in on all the stupid morons who download ringtones tbh!
Can some1 explain what the point of paying to d/l 'a sound' for your phone is? Someone calls me, my phone makes a noise (one of about 100 available on it)... For £10 i got a phone-pc cable with a cd containing s/w to save my contact lists, txts etc.... the cd also had about 5000 ringtones on it, none of which I need 'cos my phone already alerts me to incoming calls.
ffs! £3.50 ... that's a waste of valuable beer tokens! :D
KingDaveRa
27th December 2004, 00:03
Things to remember:
1. Chavs don't possess the brains to get a 'cable' to copy ringtones to their phones.
2. Chavs have stolen PCs from some office running Windows NT 3.5 so they can get on the 'Intarnit' and browse porn. The software probably requires XP.
3. The target market are Chavs.
4. Its rarely the inventor who profits, its the exploiter. Ask Dan Bricklan who wrote QDOS about the $50,000 he got for selling it to this company called Micro Soft.
5. I've run out of things, but 5 is a nice round number for a list.

The least they could have done was make the adverts pleasing to watch, I cringe every time I see it, and its not like its on once or twice, as far as I can tell, on C4 alone, its being played every other advert. Frog, DFS, Frog, Car Insurace, Frog, etc etc.

82.6% of facts are made up on the spot.
99.9% of people who can afford to "buy" ring tones do not pay rent on the bed they sleep in.

dont get me started i verbaly abused some chav tart in the pub for havin it as a ringtone saying its a crazy frog. it became a bad situation when she said she was going to "bust me up" which prompty got her thrown out cuz i told the bar staff she was underage :P
OverlordRob
27th December 2004, 13:26
lol good work
i dont understand why having an annoying frog on your phone is a good thing...is itcos chavs wanna piss off everyone else on the train theyre travelling on? they probably afford the ringtone by avoiding paying for a train ticket
the most annoying thing about it all is the frog doesnt even look like its doing anything
just hope everyone gets bored of it soon

I think what makes it particularly irritating is the quality of the advertisement itself. Note the following:
- The beginning music, it's the strangest music I've heard in my life. Some kind of odd computery music composed and performed on a Bontempi 'My-First-Keyboard'.
- The time between the frog's first appearance and it beginning to emulate the sounds of the imaginary motorcycle onto which it is hoist. Why are we forced to sit there and watch the frog for so long before the advert actually begins?
- THE FROG'S VISUALLY APPARENT GENITALIA. Let's remember somebody, somewhere had to make this model in a program like MS Paint, but they actually took the time to add in what appears to be a penis onto the frog. Is this deemed suitable for children?
I ask you all, what is happening to the world?

Was round a friends house the other day, and some cock was playing the so called "crazy frog" ringtone over and over and over, so i stood up and said
"ANYONE WHO CALLS THAT A FROG WILL BE IN MY BAD BOOKS FOR EVER, ITS A RACE CAR NOT A FROG"
then i went on to shout "silly non-geeks" and people etc.

the ringtone industry makes more than the music industry.
£3.50 for 30-50 seconds of crappy beeping when you can legally DL an entire song for about 80p

Pretty much, but luckily for me this version, while a little flabby round the edges, is stiill fairly stable (unless someone loads Alcohol onto the system, then you might get some some erratic behaviour and crashing)

I hate the way that a brilliant internet classic has, yet again, been made into some chav-toy thing.
Grr...
It doesn't even bare any relevance!!! Why a frog? why doesn't it have a bike?
Why does the frog have a PENIS!? ffs

There is now also a properly cheesy 'dance' record featuring samples of this annoying tune.
It's on Radio 1 a lot at the moment thanks to Wez. It takes a few listens to get into, but i can see myself bopping to it down the disco.
EDIT: just read that BBC news thing, where it mentions said dance tune.

Its not just the insane test the jamsters have ripped off if you watch MTV the super annoying advert
Text Fun1 for these heap of crap, FUN2 for even more tosh, well anyways other items in there are ripped off from little briton and other shows and as said it really is annoying sometimes the frog is on more then once per break selling from a different supplier.

What i honestly can't beleive is how many people are actually buying them. And paying up to £3 to do it. One friend of mine (i see a real connection between people who can't use a computer and feel the urge to buy these silly ringtones) recently had to change her sim card, because she texted one of these things without thinking, and it was taking £3 a month off her credit.
Why don't people realise all you need to do is grab a midi file off the internet and send it to your phone via infrared bluetooth or data cable? I bet a data cable or bluetooth dongle would cost less than whatever they've spent on these silly things.
Er00
28th January 2005, 13:16
according to one of my friend's a data cable for her phone would cost 30 quid :/ craziness. I say cbfmobile.com = win :p:
Zenith
28th January 2005, 15:51
Get yourself a decent phone that comes WITH a data cable, takes jpg's or gif's as backgrounds and uses wav or midi as a ringtone.
FYI, I have "Bubble Bobble" as my ringtone and I 've had it like that for QUITE some time now. :)
RocketKnight
28th January 2005, 16:01
Yeah I agree, I put the background music from RocketKnight Adventures on my mobile via Bluetooth. It's the one time I changed any settings like that on my phone. Didn't cost a penny either, I don't understand why anyone would spend money on a ringtone?
Er00
28th January 2005, 16:46
meh, nice as it would be to have a more modern phone that can handle proper things such as jpegs and midi files...I don't...I'm at an advantage in that I'm unlikely to have it nicked, and I like my wubley monophonic ringtones :p:

My current tone is one of the misc pretty crap ones that came on the phone because i have no tone editor and have yet to work out a way to get em onto my phone. None of this fancy midi tones and data transfer for me, got damned polyphonic ones. Waiting on finding someone or something that can send em to me for free.
My ex gf worked out Mr Stabby and had that as her ringtone for a while though :)
