Firstly, nothing to do with the thread, but yey, it's my birthday!!!

I don't know if this has been advertised much, or even at all, but Orange are running a competition where you have to make a short film using paper characters, similar to their adverts.

I only found out about it through a magazine insert, containing one of their paper characters that you have to use, so tbh I doubt if many people have actually heard of this.

Prizes are tickets to a film premiere, an Orange mobile phone etc, but for me, it was more the fun of making a very silly video than the chance to win something.

Anyway, check out http://www.paperfilms.co.uk.

If you go to the galleries and then click video films, mine was made live today, it is the one called Spritulised, with the thumbnail of three characters around a table.

Any comments welcome.

I'm used to just making videos of LANs and things and then just putting music over the top, but coming up with a story, with close ups and different angles was a really interesting challenge. Trying to do different voices and sound effects was such a laugh, especially as I really don't like listening to my voice on camera.

If you feel inclined, please vote for it.

It's just a shame that since it hasn't been advertised that much, there haven't been many entries yet (4 actual entries as three were made by Orange as examples), and the closing date is the 9th January ...

Cheers guys.

That's pretty sweet :)

I love the paper animation idea, its a simple concept.

I also noticed Edgar Wright is judging - he of Spaced directorial fame. I like his work :)
