I'm probably way behind the times here, but have the sony ericsson users owners out there tried FMA (http://fma.sourceforge.net/index2.htm) at all?
I was just looking for some software to download and archive SMS messages via bluetooth and came across it. I had no idea there was such a fully featured product out there, last time I checked there was nothing good at all. Check out the features list on the link above. This is what bluetooth was meant for :)
Oh, and btw, 3 - 1 ;)

the Software that comes with Nokia's does that sort of stuff
but it's probably about 100x more bloated

As you say, it's bloated, and in my experience, near enough unusable.
This seems to be the best implementation of messenger style sms I've seen and generally seems very polished. I've not seen neat features like automatically locking your pc when you leave your desk, remotely controlling your pc from your phone (winamp, media player etc), observing a different room through your phone camera and the like, but correct me if I'm wrong (I haven't looked at this whole area since I was sorely disappointed by it a year or so back).

I need something like this for the Motorola A925, any ideas? Or even a similar implementation to MacOS X's Address Book which Just Works™. With Everything™

I'm afraid it doesn't work too well with the P800/P900/P910 series of phones. Fundamentally different OS (Symbian) from a T610.
