ok i recorded a 2 min video in fraps which ended up 400mb.. now when i compress it with virtual dub the only codec i can use is cinemax which only puts it to 90mb :/
ive seen avi files 2 mins long really small like 20mb and the quality is still fair good so..

what codecs/programs do you use for encoding?

Personally i find that XviD compresses more reliably than DivX. So i`d sugest that. However, be aware that if you want to do any post processing (like adding music / titles etc) do it with the raw files before you re-compress it because a lot of applications cant work with DivX or XviD files.

you need Dr. Divx. It's the best. Auto selection for quality inc. DVD, PC, Pocket PC

Dr DivX is great. So simple. Costs money though.

That's a funny coincidence - lapdancers are great and simple yet also cost money. hmm... I think you're on to something here.
