View Full Version : It's all gone quiet in here (in here)

Did you see the snow at the weekend?
The snow demons are angry. Angry with us for our lack of excitement in failing to mark a mere eight weeks 'till the Ski Trip of Doom (TM).
We must appease them with offerings of room plans, travel arrangements, even a request for more money from our glorious leader may help satiate their need for snow related forum activity.
If we don't do something soon it will take a virgin sacrifice to guarantee snow on the slopes. [Insert standard Afty-related deflowerment joke here]

SToD - Ski Trip of Doom - Very nice.
Afty has been out all night on the sniff though, so I think that the virgin deflowerment has already been made.

Branson won't be happy.
Now I've finished HL2 room plan should be forthcoming shortly, also send me more money as I 'll get worried if the account doesn't start to fill up again ahead of THE DATE OF DOOM (tm) where all the funds in the world are transferred to the chalet people (17th December). So cash me up biznatches, £185 on the nose.

Zakalwe
23rd November 2004, 11:14
Yep, you've paid for deposit and transport so far :)
I like Phil's CLITORIS acronym as well.
Phil does indeed win first attempted payment. I think I'll wait three days then win first payment using linked account hax :P

Zakalwe

Everyone owes me £185, after you've paid that you owe me nothing, except your allegiance...
Ryvita
23rd November 2004, 21:54
That's right Dave, the entire world owes you. Just for the sheer light, joy and excitement you bring into being just by existing in this mortal plane. :p:
Funds to follow shortly, payment in plut fuel rod to the usual address?

;) I'm going to build an even more counterspelly deck for next trip. It's going to consist entirely of land and four of each counterspell. It'll contain one artifact - the World's Smallest Violin to be played when my opponent starts moaning :)

Oh, don't worry - it'll obviously never win, but it will be annoying ;) Might be fun to play as emperor with that deck, although, once you've lost a wing you're screwed :)

*If* you lose a wing :)

But that only affects Zak, the poor sods in for a world of pain :)

Actually I think I've found a card that allows me to change the target of a spell of effect. So the player of the "world's smallest violin" card may be in the unfortunate position of having to kick himself in the ********...
afty
24th November 2004, 18:47
Is that even possible?

For those of you wise and learned in such things, you may remember a rather silly expansion set called Unglued. The sequel to this set, Unhinged, was released last week with even more stupid cards than ever.
Guessing that this is what Zak is refering to, I give you:

Yes, that's one meeeeeelion mana.
Ryv
P.S. Uber-Hax green insectile deck of doom will eat you all! Bwahahahaha. Oh, hang on, noooooo! cards more than a year old!!! Noooo, I'm melting, meeeeeelllltiiiiiinnnnggggg...
afty
24th November 2004, 19:38
Well, there were some quality old cards like twiddle which were instants/interrupts which allowed you to do some interesting things with spells like change any one colour mana into another, change any one word into another, choose the target yourself, or create a mirror of the spell and target that as you desired...
afty
24th November 2004, 19:40
Sorry, Twiddle was "tap or untap" - trying to remember the names of the hax cards. I have one or two lying around here...

Does this sudden outburst of Magic related enthusiasm actually mean people might be bringing their decks with them? As opposed to using mine and complaining that:
a) modern cards are too powerful or
b) modern cards are pants or
c) both.

I will bring my cards to StratLAN, and bagspace (and new holder for cards that isnt falling apart) permitting, Ski Trip too.
What rules are using re: new cards/old cards/mixing etc.?

Anything goes baby.
(Except Phasing, as that's way too much effort to keep track of).

Good, I don;t even know what Phasing does.

From the rulebook:
"Phasing: Tap a card with phasing to confuse your opponent. While a card is phased it cannot be the target of spells or effects except in some situations. A card phases in and out at random during unspecified portions of someone's turn. A phased card may not be played if you are expecting to have fun."

Andy Wins! First past the post with a slighlty confusing payment of £187.
Shall I use the extra £2 to treat myself then Andy? Psym and Wizzo also fully paid in leaving me out of the medals as I got in 4th! (Quite embarrassing as it's linked to my account).
Bvark's hax plan of paying me in cash never happened so congrats to those 3 for occupying the podium so quickly.

LOL zak. 187 is such a better number than 185, and yes feel free to buy yourself a nice fish supper or something :D
Did you get the payment 'description' ? I had small fits of mirth watching it go through the system, wondering what a stray HSBC admin might think if they saw it.
