Hi there, since I have just had to upgrade to a nice 1.2 terabytes of storage on my new server due to how much stuff I have, I built a whole new one due to being silly and doing it for the sheer hell of it.

I have my old server up for sale. This has been an extremely reliable, quick and 110% rock solid server running Server 2003 which has been hosting all of my normal files for the house pc's, streaming media throughout the house to xbox/pc/kiss dvd player and also been a 24/7 download machine, all without the faintest grumble. For anyone considering doing it properly and fitting in a proper server at home, it would be a great start. I also had it under the stairs in an actively ventilated cupoboard, so it bother absolutely noone.

Anyway, specs:

Acer Altos 1100E File Server
Dual Intel Pentium III 700 CPU's
1GB Registered ECC RAM
Adaptec AHA 3950-U2B Dual Channel SCSI Controller
Integrated Intel 82558 10/100 LAN Controller
Netgear GA302T Gigabit LAN Controller
ATI Rage XL AGP Graphics
Acer/Aopen HSC5 SCSI 40/80/160/320 5 Bay lockable Hotswap assembly with active cooling.
1x Brand New Maxtor 36Gb 10krpm Atlas IV U320 Hard Drive
1x Seagate 36Gb 10krpm U320 Hard Drive
2x IBM Ultrastar 18Gb U160 Hard Drive
(Both the 36gb's and 18Gb's run mirrored for your protection ;) or can be run seperatly of course)
1x Seagate 7200.7 40Gb 7200RPM IDE Drive (Boot drive/whatever)
52xCDROM Drive
1x Windows 2000 Server licence

Now basically I was going to put the Hot swap and 2 of the drives up alone for about £100 and that would have been a pretty good price, but I have no need for this server anymore and it works so well all together that I decided to have a stab at selling it all cleaned out, shiny and working brilliantly, so here I am

I would like £200 for the whole thing including courier delivery.

Cheers,

Nick :)

I assume the mobo is a standard ATX one?

Is it possible to move the hardware to another case whilst keeping the hot-swap caddy useable?

Very very interested

Although I have had some PM's about the server, really being fair I have to offer it in order of people expressing interest.

I am in Farnham, Hants, but tbh I wouldn't drop the price for local pickup, as the courier is only about £12

Cheers,

Nick :)

Well judging on how well this old girl went, I will have my other 1 of these that I am prepping atm for sale. The spec will be lower though, but the price will reflect this.

Cheers,

Nick :)
