ok... since I'm a noob and I don't read manuals... would anyone care to let me know what "resource sharing" does in multiplayer?

If your on a team you can share resources between each other
ie i'll give you 3000 power for 3000 resources etc...

It's like this:
With resource sharing on all your resource producing thingies (strategic points, listening posts and power plants) produce LESS than with resource sharing off, but EVERYONE on the team receives them. So capping a strat point might normally give +10 req without sharing on, with sharing on (in a 2 player game) it gives you +6 and your teammate +6, so +12 in all (numbers are illustrative, actual numbers may vary but principle remains the same. Your team share resources equally from everything EXCEPT the resource boosting upgrades (the one's you can research at LP's and power plants), so if you have a choice between building an LP and researching the upgrade then it is more team-spirited to build an LP.
That's pretty much it. Hope this helps.

You can always donate res to other teammates, whether sharing is on or off. As mentioned before, res sharing splits your income between all of your allies. I hate it personally, if you get power, because you want to do a quick tech, your teammate also has to get power for you to be able to, which means that they cant spend as much of the req that they would have otherwise on troops, which in turn protect you and your teching self.

Losing most of your main attack force against their ultimate counter, cursing a lot, then using stealthed scouts to harrass open victory/strategic points ad infinitum, or until someone finds your base and shoots it. Like driving a Technical around with a couple GLA workers making stealth tunnel networks and annoying the **** out of whoever you are playing against :D
Actually this has suddenly sounded like a bloke Bonkers played against online as Eldar. Bonkers, tell the story please :)
