Just wondering, i find the scrolling to be horrendously slow in this game, and holding the middle mouse button, the scrolling controls seem to be backwards ie move the mouse left the screen pans right.
I was just wondering.

What do you find is the most efficient way of scrolling in game?

Usually a mixture of ways, mouse and keyboard together scroll faster, sometimes i just use the keyboard.

The other useful way is to just jump directly to the units you want. If they're group 1, press 1 twice pretty quickly and it hops to the squad. Pretty useful, along with the notices on the left of the screen as they occur.

so many ways to look around the map :D

Yeh i always used numbered squads :)
Just some things dont merit being numbered and i find it too slow using the alerts and the radar to click on.

I use the cursor keys - I have done in all RTS games. Generals annoyed me to high heaven when I learnt that you couldn't scroll with the keyboard. Grrrrrrr, darn fools.

Tried changing the scroll speed in the options?

Just a thought.

you cant, and i cant patch mind :D at least not yet to the latest version.
Does 1.10 incorporate scroll speed in the options?

Think of the middle mouse button like the 'grabby' cursor you get in Adobe PDF reader. You grab the page and push up it the page to read more text further down the page and vice versa.

It's like that. A little odd, but numbered groups (Ctrl+ number)
Also be aware that you can assign members to multiple groups (ie: a servitors / heavy machinery)

You can, I just looked ... and I've got the unpatched version.

Go to the Main Menu, then Options, then Controls.... there is a slider called Scroll Rate, and the description is something like "increase the speed you scroll when you put your mouse to the edge of the screen".
