I used to play long science fantasy games but as I do other things now I enjoy very much the shorter competative games which are around and I am also fond of card games. I like the edge on competition. Examples Knockout Boxing, Vibtetris, games that makes you think and in somecases you only have a time limit, there are the games which are puzzling and you have to work out which way you go next, or you build things, observation, aero fighting oh dear there are so many and when you sit down to list them you wonder what they are - but it is fun

playing BF2142 at the moment. Love it unfortunately not that great at it yet.
play games for fun but getting frustrated with not being able to play in properly organised squads. It seems the best way to win/play is in organised squads but most/all of the servers are full of squads who don't play as a squad. i.e members scattered all over the map ignoring commands or leaders not giving commands or communicating in any way.
I can see the effect playing in real squads has it is almost impossible to play against a properly organised squad or team if the squad you are in is playing haphazzardly.
...... so basically I love this game not good enough to join a clan?? I guess .
but still want to play it properly anyone any suggestions?

Other than join a clan, not really. although some servers do offer community comms servers, you could try finding one.

Either that or play WoW, or a game like that where working as a squad is far more accepted as a way to complete a goal.

Or as a valid alternative to WoW you could volunteer to fund yourself through experimentla ebola injections into soft tissue surrounding your crotch.... stick with BF ;)

I just started playing guild wars, so i have these questions:
1. How can I get a new pet?
2. Can we have mounts?
3. Should I do all the quests before passing to Old Ascalon?
4. How exactly do the skills and attributes work?
5. Where can I buy armor (gloves, boots etc..) and bows?
6. How do the battle arena's work, how do I join them etc..?

With the vast array of games covering many genres it would be hard to recommend a game as the best but if you give some idea of the direction you are heading in your gaming I am sure someone on these boards could offer you some advice for good solid games.

its down to personal choice, i like RTS's over FPS's but thats just my view

look through some magazines and see what takes your fancy, like the look of sumthing then google it to see if there is a demo of it you can try for free. Also have a look at fileplanet, they have lots of demos and betas of new games out now you can try :)
