Well, last weekend I got to see one of them new fangled PS2's. Wow they are SMALL, smaller than I'd ever imagined, pictures make it look big, but its really SMALL. Very impressive, not much bigger than a DVD case, nice one Sony...
Moving on, I got to also have a play around with GTA:SA. Massive game, looks like it will be a lot of fun when it finally gets released on PC next year. But one thing that did seem to bother me... The radio stations & the Music.. In vice city, you got into any car, the music was instantly recognisable, a lot of the time I'd stay in the car just to hear the end of current tune that was playing.
In GTA:SA I found myself more and more turning the radio OFF when I got into the cars. I just did nott recongise the majority of the music, it was very annoying to listen to. Anyways anyone else played the game? care to shed some light on the general style and era of the music? If it is the 90's I must of missed out on it

I haven't played it but have been hearing no bad news about it yet apart from the radio.....

It doesn't come out on the pc till the 6th of the 7th 2005 i think....
loooooooong wait for us pc users... i might invest in a decent emulator though...

The music is all from the 90's and based largely on rap, gangster and some house styles. These are styles I don't really listen to so I don't recognise much of it. I find I enjoyed the 80's music in Vice City a lot more, and I recognised practically all of that, which probably says something about my age, but still.

As a result I have to say I don't enjoy the music nearly as much in San Andreas. There is one good rock station with songs like Guns & Roses - Welcome To The Jungle and Faith No More - Midlife Crisis which I spend most of my playing time listening to. There is also some decent funk style music that is ok although I recognise precisely none of it.

They have basically kept within the style of the game again, and it does work. It is just unfortunate for me that it is not a style I like that much.

Think you're right there Kev. The music used to be classic 80's tunes - but all the ones in SA seem to be rubbish. I've not played it but I've watched someone play loads of it so it's kinda the same.. great game, only complaint is the music - still amazingly worth the buy ;)

it's ironic that Guns N Roses appear on the Rock station, yet Axl Rose guest DJ's the Alternative station...

My bro's been at it for a while, he says the only problem with it so far is that it's taken him roughly 15 hours to get to the next place (slacker :p: )

I still prefer the original GTA 3 myself...

I really like a lot of the old skool hiphop stuff, so I'm quite happy :) But then I've been known to reveal I like Westlife and Busted, so it's probably best to assume I'd like any music. Except Daphne and Celeste, but who would class that as music? :D

And as for Axl Rose DJing: the station he's on is the classic rock station. The station GnR are on is the alternative station, remember this is the 90s! :)

Also: a swift glance at the voice credits reveals the name Shaun Ryder... *Could* it be...? :)

May 2005 is too long to wait for the pc version, although i find 'head popping' far easier with a mouse than that silly joystick thingy :)
