The big problem with new units/races is always going to be balance. However...
Given the success of the single player campaign, I can see the potential for addon campaigns with new playable races and opponents. The beauty of this part is that it doesn't have to be balanced in the way multiplayer would require. Hopefully this means we'll get new campaigns sooner rather than later.
Frankly, I'd be happier with no new MP races or units if having them resulted in what is currently a very balanced game being broken. Yes, I know more people play SM than any other race (cos its easy) and I know the best Eldar players seem to be all-conquering (because they're bugged, and because the players that don't use the bugs seem to be of the 'I'm facing the challenge of using Eldar' type more than any particular uberness), but I'd call it balanced. All it needs is smartness, there's no 'killer tactic'. Unless you're Orks against Marines or Chaos, that is... :)

Bike Squadrons shouldn't be too hard to balance between the races. Space Marines have bikes, Chaos Space Marines also have bikes, Orks have Warbikes (just looked at the GW Website at the warbike... that model was one of the first ones I got), and the Eldar have Jetbikes. There's so much in the tabletop game that will hopefully be added, but then again, there's also more than your average strategy game, which is probably why the number of buildable units was brought down.

It's not just a question of making sure each race gets bikes that are balanced, it's more than that - overall balance. What if bikes change the nature of the game alot? Adding units with extra speed and lower armour would change the play dynamic quite alot.
I would like to see more new races like the Tyranids, Imperial Guard, Tau, Necrons etc. (in that order) to add variety to the game. Give me my nids!

I never said I didn't want more races :)
Tyranids are a must-have.

Tyranids just look so cool, clearly a must.
A agree with afty about units though - It's probably easier to balance an enture new race than add a single vehicle. Adding something new will likely make something else redundant or require other races to be balanced.

I would love nids if they included some of the stealer cult units (Patriarch, Magus, Hybrids.....)

You won't get Tyranids, because even in the TT they're unbalanced. A single player campaign as Tyranids could be fun though, carving through the galaxy merrily stripping planets on the way :)

I'd completely forgotten about the tyranids, but a lot of Eldar units seem to be missing. Dunno how they would make it balance if they added them tho.

mmm all these suggestions for loads of new races .. makes me think of Rise of Nations or something where I felt mildly overwhelmed at the choice .. but in an RTS a stupid number of races would be pretty damn cool :) Suspect it would start to rather rape your disk space though.
