Life is all about what you want it to be.
If you want to sit around and do nothing - then your life with be uneventful and pass you by.
If you want to make your life full, happy and eventful then the only person that can do that is you.
There will be ups and downs whatever happens - but you just have to keep going!

I hate stupidly optimistic things like this, this is not the case at all and some people have no choice but to deal with upsetting and depressing things in their life, or be unable to do the thing they want. Just because you want to to do somthing dosnt mean you can.

Yeah, I agree with Timmy, you live, do whatever then your gone, nothing else - just a pointless serise of events that have no real worth.

That is my outlook on life - get over it.
If you let things get you down for too long - it just wastes time. It is pointless - ffs you could be hit by a bus - shot by terrorists tomorrow. If you do not live your life the way YOU want it - then it will just be a waste - and you only have one! Gotta experiance as much as you can in the short time you have!

Not some people, all people deal with these things. I think the point is that if you take the attitude that you're unlucky, unusual, unimportant, unloved, un-etc then you'll spiral and become those things you feared. You have to realise that everone will go through these things, albeit in completely different physical manifestations.

If you take the "do whatever then your gone, nothing else - just a pointless serise of events that have no real worth" attitude then it'll just become a self fullfilling prophesy. 'I don't think anything I do will matter, so I won't do those things that could change my life for the better'.

That's terrible, on so many levels.

I.E.

If "Life" is the fan, then the "other side" is death - so it's "If life is bad, kill yourself", so it's crap and morbid.

Also with the "Fan" imagery, if one side of the "Fan" "sucks" then the other side of the "Fan" "blows". That's a great improvement, no really.

I'm just glad you're running a gaming cafe in Ibiza rather than writing quotes for hallmark or manning the phones for the Samaritans...

Well I think this thread is about your own personal outlook, so i guess we're all entitled to our opinion.

for me it's visual, the connection of beauty with the soul.

To me what I take in makes life worth living, I can't really describe it so well.

Most people who win the lottery are LESS happy with their lives several years later. But hey, it's a magic bullet, right?

What about those with mental illnesses that can't get and keep friends as easy as normal people. Illnesses that makes you feel very little emotion for anyone, including family.

Yes, and I was questioning your opinion on life. Unless of course you're talking about 1 life in particular. The intended topic states life as in generic.

I was asking you where do those that have no family or friends for whatever reason fit in with your description of life. That they have none?

I do feel a little sorry for orphans - it must be awful to have no parents/siblings/extended family but many do get decent foster families, with whom they stay in touch for the rest of their lives.
As for friends, well you have to make friends, and keep them. They tend to be even harder work than family, but worth it all the same.
And feelings? Well everyone has those - regardless of what they are, everyone has them.

Of course, it's easy for you to say that, your intelligent and normal. You wasn't born with a social problem like myself that causes problems with friendships. Mostly because I don't need them to get on with life. Most consider that truly weird. Infact, people consider it ****ed up.

It's because 'normal' people don't truly understand me. People think a mental illness that doesn't show obvious signs (such as retardation) is simply an excuse for ones behaviour.

Then again, I'm quite happy to be different. Infact many say Einstein and Newton had an illness very similar to mine. Not that I'm a genius. Although I do excel in certain fields compared to the majority of folk.

Now, my point is, according to your opinion, I have no life.

Rather than have a poke at someone else's opinion (which we're all entitled to). I believe life is this: Worship God, Trust God, Talk to, and Learn about God. The closer you get, the lighter your burden, the stronger (mentally) you are, the wiser you become.
