Small addendum:
At this time Counter Strike Source Beta will officially end, to be taken over by Counter Strike Source. You will be able to play Counter Striek source tonight at 7pm if you have a licence to use CS:condition Zero then you will be able to play. I you had CS:Source Beta it will no longer be Beta and become just Source, and all the maps will be made available.
Looking forward to it tbh, I cant deny Steam has been a P.I.T.A but as I own a cyber I can hardly not take notice of what will surely cause lots of gossip with my customers..

In related news; if you pay valve $100,000 + your first born, buy 10 CS:CZ licenses, sign up 200 friends to steam and do an ancient tribal war dance in the nude; you will be allowed to pre-load the next installment of HL2.
.......if you're lucky.

If you pay for gold online, do they send you the 'bits' they're offering (e.g. posters etc.), if so do they send it as soon as you pay for it? Or when it comes out?
I want to get gold either way, but is it worth waiting to buy gold from the shops rather than online?

Really: The extra £20 seems a bit steep for a Hat, collectors box Posters, Stickers and a postcard.
The Prima Strategy guide will probably suck too - www.gamefaqs.com tend to be better.
And soundtrack cd? Puhleeese.
I could see gold being worth it if the back catalogue wasn't on silver, but as it is the Gold seems a bit steep (presumably as they have to add distribution costs in rather than just let you download stuff).

I think it's an absolute bargain. For Valve. Here's the deal:
1. You pay us 20 squids
2. You get to look like a complete prat in customised geeky gear, thereby advertising our product and making us more money
I mean, this really is the kind of rubbish they normally give away to promote the product, I can't believe they've actually got the cheek to make people pay for it.

what is the back catalog anyway ? is it just all the normal mods that steam has right now, or is it those mods converted to source ?
the current ones seem to be free as it is :o
*edit: missing words  *
