Aisle Of Teh Menn?

I thought you were going to Leeds? Crikey dude, IOM is going to make getting to LANs all sorts of hard (I turned down a really cushy job over there a couple years ago because of travel issues) but I sppose if you're taking your car the roads with no speed limits will be appealing. Try not to die and everything!

Hmm, very boring place the Isle Of Man, unless the TT is on. I haven't been there recently, so I hope it has changed for the better. It also gets the **** end of the stick for weather. :(

Hehe, lapdance bar would rock but I'm afraid I'm not around next weekend - no way you can do this the weekend after, or are you gone by then?

Sorry afty, will be over there by the following weekend as I start work on the 11th.

Unless I go over some time in the week and check the place out / drop some stuff off and fly over on the Sunday or something. Hmm ...

Andy, surely its not too late....leeds > isle of man tbh.

Im not 100% on this, but im sure there are more lapdance clubs in leeds than on the isle of man +its cheaper lansport, +its close enough to do regular beer trips with those from blackpool/preston/manc/leeds (ohhi btw)

Ahh most excellent, bar Jerkys post :) Jerky you are more than welcome to sample blackpool's attractions before I leave :)

Right

provisional plan:

I will explore IoM this coming weekend, which frees up the next weekend for Hot Blackpool Action (hereby referred to as HBA).

I'd like to arrange the HBA for Friday 8th, with everyone meeting up at my place before heading off to HBA in one of those quaint TAXI things I see now and then on the road. After HBA has been achieved, we ferry ourselves in some manner back to House de la El Foggorino where everyone can experience good unconscious action. Parent has kindly offered to vacate the premises, obviously slightly worried about afty after I showed her a couple of choice pictures of him. On saturday you then make your own ways back to your stomping grounds while I fret about flying back to the IoM and doing that work thing.

Sound good? Discuss.

Go to Leeds. It has the best lapdancing bar I've ever experienced (The Purple Door, not too far from the station) with some genuinely beautiful women (instead of scally single women) who are professional, but also... touchy feely.

Have fun!

Ok if you are coming by car it's dead dead simple to get to Blackpool, and almost as easy to find my place.

M6 -> M55 is the choice of route for southerly people. Bonkers, Afty, you probably already know the way.

Aardvark, you may / may not? Here's some pics anyway

Come down the M55. There are only about 4 junctions on the whole motorway, the first one being pretty much straight after the M6/M55 join that takes you into Preston. Ignore.

Next one is about 7-8 minutes down the carriageway, signed for Kirkham. Next stop: Blackpool.

You will see this sign (http://andyf.me.uk/media/bp/IMG_1402.JPG) first, which I expertly took while sitting in the hard shoulder wondering why my fourth gear is grinding.

This will shortly be followed by the chunky overhead sign (http://andyf.me.uk/media/bp/IMG_1403.JPG). This is your turn off approaching. No, that police car up ahead isn't waiting for me. And yes, doesn't ISO400 look horrible for pictures.

Anyway come off at this junction. The inside lane pretty much becomes a half-mile slip road so it's rather hard to miss.

At the top is a triple-laned roundabout. Use the first lane and turn LEFT, which is a gentle left curving dual carriageway which then starts to curve right a bit. You will see the joy of B&Q to the right. Move into the right hand lane and prepare for the roundabout. You want to take the official third exit but lots of people seem to think its only the second exit. It's not straight on, it's the next one along, which takes you onto a single lane road passing the Travelodge on your RIGHT. Proceed along, straight on at the roundabout. If you manage to turn left or right at this roundabout I will be very surprised because it only goes straight on and you will have crashed into something inanimate, like a big concrete block.

At this point you will probably want to give me a shout if you are coming directly to my place first. It gets a bit 'fun'. If you are going to blackpool first (afty?) then disregard everything I've said already and I'll see you in town.

All coming, you might wanna bring a sleeping bag or something. Actual places to sleep shouldn't be a problem, but feel free to bring your i-series gear with you if you want.

Or, pass out after drinking too much on the floor and not care :)
