It's also worth mentioning the built in ethernet port, useful if you have linux running on it and want to use it as a server. (I believe the old version required extra hardware for that functionality, at a price of course.)

Didnt realise they still sold the Linux kit for the PS2 see it here (http://uk.playstation.com/hardware/hardware.jhtml?id=1000003&generationId=2)
will be great with built in ethernet port and the new size, shame its an external hard disk
