ok atm i have 2 pc's (one cable the other wireless (54mbps) and 2 laptops (one with both but useing cable, and the other wireless (11mbps))
I currently have a D-link DSL 300G+ modem plugged into a D-link DI-614+ wireless (11mbps) 4 port broadband router.
A few weeks ago the router went mental and was disconnecting my network connection every 10 secs. The 4 lights for the switch come on and the other lights flicker as if it was resetting it self. It does this constantly. It doesnt issue ip addresses and so i cant get to the config page.
The modem is working fine however.

This is annoying my parents as the are in the process of retireing and selling the family business which requires lots of online banking stuff... and there laptop doesnt have a net connection. So. We need this fixed quickly. So we ether call D-Link tech suport in india and they will say "send it back" like last time we called them which was a pain in the ass. or. we take advantage of some offers that are on atm.

A 3com... (seems quite good but i know nothing about 3com stuff)

or D-Link (have always had dlink stuff and have found it easy to use)

3Com is cheeper which is why i'm wondering is it actualy as good? I know there other big stuff is good but what about the broadband routers and such? I have my eyes on these 2 particulary because and my parents will get a 54mbps card instead of 11 and my other wireless pc's will be useing 54 instead of 11, plus I wont have 2 boxes sat on my desk.

What are your opinions? i'm edging towards the 3Com. the reviews are good. there are lots of them. and its cheeper.

Can't say I know much about the others, but we've been using the Netgear DG834G for a while. So far we've got around 8, and no problems from them.

A friend has a 3com, not sure if it's the same model, but he's had no problems with it

I would really recomend you go for the Netgear, the 3com is good but it requires quite a bit of know-how to configure properly. The Netgear ADSL/WAN Firewalled Router is an excelent choice. Since its easy to configure and it supports UnPnP (Universal Plug and Play). Easy to setup and secure... go for the Netgear.

Here it is (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=52244)
