Banned, like others from the servers for no reason, (well I was 31/3 or something :)). Anyway, this has been discussed already so Im not going to repeat what others said. However, I advice you change the name of the server to suggest to other users that it isn't you, but some1 else, for example "multiplay.co.uk - clan public" or whatever. If not, it will bring down your reputation and others will go for the likes of jolt, gamerservers etc.

Just a suggestion

I'm afraid if it was a clanserver it's out of Multiplays hands...

There server there rules. same as any other clanserver, if you look round the net any of the branded GSP servers have got it showing the same way.

Maybe worth posting which server it was

tbh i think sharpshot has a point, it could well prevent people getting needlessly wound up with MPUK if the clanservers were more obviously clan servers while still maintaining the branding.

Unfortunately, all we require from clanserver customers who have not purchased the debranded option is that they keep 'multiplay.co.uk ::' at the start of the server name. They are then free to set the rest of the name themselves using ClanForge.

Our public servers generally following the naming convention of 'multiplay.co.uk :: Goldrush #1' for example.

The guys who rent the server from us are free to call it whatever they want, as long as it begins with multiplay.co.uk :: (which ClanForge will force if not set).

but could the requirement not be changed to include www.multiplay.co.uk|| clan server || gold rush #1 (for example)........... or something,?

Exactly Jerky. The server was called: "Multiplay.co.uk :: Public 24 Player". Ip: 212.42.16.15

As you can see, this sugests to the player that its a public server hosted by you. Again, I'm not complaining, just offering some constructive advice.

We're limited to server name lengths, so we don't want to take clanservers own area up too much.

For the amount of servers that MPUK run and with the Multiplay.co.uk :: tag we have very few problems.

As i said most other main GSP's do the same.

As I can can tell from the earlier post it has nothing to do with multiplay, but I have to say that server is abismal for kicking and banning. I got kicked last night and I wasn't even playing very well. Players heads were popping like nobodys business and I had a ratio of about 60/30. If I had played like that against my old IZI clan mates or any other skilled sof2 players I would have been slaughtered. Do these people play so detatched from the rest of the scene they don't actually know what a good player can do? I kept getting votes of 11 needed and 10 voting yes.

Is it a clan that rent the server? Any information on this would be useful.

Yes, it is a clan that rents the server.
