Just been mucking round and thought some people out there might like to know this info (if you don't know it already).

C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -console +connect x.x.x.x:27015

Modify your halflife shortcut to have the above syntax.

Start a server using the LAN option (assuming you've only got 1 ethernet port / internet connection)

People can join it as long as they know where to find the server.

so what are you saying here? that shortcut enables listenservers to be available to the net? if so load a listenserver and type in sv_lan 1 or 0 in the console in game this enables lan or net

or add that to your listenserver shortcut, means you dont need to keep changing your ip if you arent static.
