Since I've just gotten out of bed, I have more effort than the average Chris.

We were talking in IRC about visitings to theme parks, and we thought that an MPUK trip to Thorpe Park would be a good plan. Clearly this would have to be during term time (which means I almost certainly won't be able to go) so as to avoid huge crowds, etc etc

How to get to Thorpe Park (http://www.thorpepark.com/Tussauds/WebSite.do?id=515.54.665).

Perhaps some time in 2005? If it's a big enough trip then it would require a while of planning (a la AT), and if there's enough people, T-Shirts?

Edit: An idea of ticket prices: If we get at least 12 people, we can get a group discount, £15 per person.

But it's so close to most of us southerners that hotel doesn't matter. It's about half hour car journey for me.

forget about going on Collosses if you have a chest bigger that 46" as you wont get on, gust like I didn't. Yet i was able to get in the test seat at the entrance to the ride, I am still fighting Thorp Park over this and am about to go to the papers with it

omg! did they have a tape measure to hand to check or something?

Manic
16th August 2004, 21:25
no, there is a test seat just outside the ride which will fit anyone upto 50" chest because that is what I am and it fitted (just). But when you get onto the ride you are in a more cramped position so if you have a bit of a belly too the secondary seat lock (Seat belt type) will not reach and lock and the ride operators will tell you in front of everyone "Sorry You Are Too Big For This Ride".

Yeah, I'm in.

I can set up a page for booking if people REALLY want. I have nothing better to do than PHP Code.

Sounds like a laugh, may need to take one of you lovely people up on an offer of accomodation though.

Will poke Ryv and see if he's interested as well.
