View Full Version : Alton Towers: When what where who and how....

So as to give people some idea of whats happening when we get there, i thought it might be a good idea to post up this poll so people could sugest a possible plan of action for the trip.
Not in any way to pressure anyone to do any one thing, but more of a guide of where the "MPUK massiv" is likely to be, and when.
Assuming everyone is arriving on Sunday the 12th of September at some point, and staying 2 nights in either splash landings, or the AT hotel.
What are your thoughts... ?

Well, I think in order to get the adrenalin pumping and wake us all up on the morning, a good, healthy plunge on the Oblivion is on the menu!

I'll scream like a girl if you get me on that thing...
When you enter the queue and probably after a trek through woodland surrounding the ride you will start to go down into Nemesis' pit with track structure surrounding you. You will also notice various "blood" waterfalls all flowing towards a massive lake of blood just feet away from people's legs at the base of the vertical loop. Once inside the station and boarded your car you are whisked out the alien structure which the whole ride centres around, you are slowly pulled up the lift hill, then as the clicking stops and everything momentarily goes silent you quickly gain speed down a small drop then into the first barrel roll, round a tight curve as you hurtle towards Nemesis just second before you hit the station you are whisked away in a zero-g-roll over the station then round a tight 180 stall turn then down to the lowest part of the ride with the lake of blood below pulling 4Gs in a vertical loops then through a tunnel under the queue then probably the only part of the ride for a breather - only a second or so - as you go around a large 180 degree turn over many spectators below, into a tunnel out of a tunnel into a tight barrel roll just missing the smoking "Mushroom Cloud Tours" bus perched off the edge of a cliff then into and out of another tunnel then into a final turn in the break run.

There's so many of us, just do whatever you want to do, on the day you want to do it.
Personally last year, I spent sunday in the park, and the entire of monday and half of tuesday in the water park (so it was SO hot it was only sane thing to do). Other people visited the park on monday, some didn't.
If i remember correctly, the water park is open from 9-9 so you can always have a day in the park til later afteroon and a dip in the pool afterwards.

We're planning on turning up about 9.30am on the Sunday and heading straight for the park (since we're not staying overnight).

I'll be getting into Uttoxeter Station at about 14:15. Then after bumming a ride off someone or arranging transport by taxi, i'll be heading to the park. Leaving on Tuesday afternoon.
