Dilemma?
I've been away for just over 6 months, I have not bought any games in this 6 month period, now I'm returning soon and really do not know what games to buy or indeed what order to get them. I'm signed up for I21, so please, give me some clues.
Maybe I should go for Doom 3 and forget all games released from Jan to July this year? or maybe I should not bother getting anything, give up games, they are expensive, and addictive?
Taken I dont have the money to purchase loads of games, I need to be very selective in my choices. So please help us out.. You all know what sort of games I enjoy playing :)
*Btw. I'm still in New Zealand, but with little more than 2 weeks left!

I'd go with Joint Operations for one
Trackmania seems to be very popular and also fairly cheap.
Kev was the person that introduced us all to Trackmania :D

UT2K4 and Trackmania are the two games I'm playing atm (along with FF6). One thing I have been playing recently is the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War beta, and it looks like its going to be very good. To be released in September if the release date on Play.com is to be believed.

I would suggest getting Thief 3 and Doom 3 :). Really the best 2 games on the market at the moment. They are just simply fresh and orriginal.

There's nothing around that's really engrossing. Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and Max Payne 2 were great games, but each lasted under a week. I'm pinning my hopes on HL2 as Doom 3 doesn't really interest me.
Gaming has featured less and less in my life for a while now. First due to uni work leaving precious little time for anything else but now that's all over I have no desire to game outside of LANs.
Anyway, back on point. You've already got TrackMania, I'd also recommend UT2k4. BF:Vietnam is quite nifty but it seems hardly any one plays it.
Save your pennies for TrackMania Sunrise too. ;)

I bought Farcry and was really dissapointment :(
My next game(s) is going to be either Joint Ops or Doom III.
Im getting a bit sick FPS though. Im getting paranoid that my abuse of FPS is degenerating my interest in games that actually make you THINK rather than just react.
Like Master of Orion, or a point and click adventure.
Am I really now a low life FPS junkie shooting up on a fragging high?

Kraken: Try a game called "Imperium Galactica 2". I tried playing Master of Orion 3 and got bored very quickly, as it paled in comparison, in my opinion, to IG2. Think of a Total War game, but in space and in real time, and you're not far off.

Very weird Hitori,
Yesterday I found the Imperium Galactica II CDs left my a friend in my house, i thought id give it a go sometime.
You have now given my gaming existence purpose.
I thank you.
To defend my opinion against shazz (hmmm witty retort btw "i dont like how you talk! STFU!")
The reason trackmania is such a terrible LAN game is that its a mirage of a multiplayer game. Your opponents have no control of the outcome, and it can best be described as a single player, multiplayer game. You can't bash your opponents for comedy fun, nor nudge them off the track. Its just 20 odd people racing against themselves. Yes the game has some merit, but as a multiplayer game its just terrible there are no personal duels, no teamwork and its a very "selfish" multiplayer game. I played it for a few hours last stratlan, but just got bored with the fact i couldnt influence the outcome of others racers.
and That is why, in my opinion, trackmania is a bad LAN game.
