Kicked for looking!!!

It was about ten tonight and I was having a look around some CoD servers trying to decide which one I'd join. I logged onto your server which was playing Pavlov as a spectator and was immediately kicked (after ten seconds) I tried to log in again and was given the message that I'd been banned permanently!!
So what's all that about?:confused: I could understand if the server was at capacity but I think, there were about 9 players!

there's a lot of similar threads lately. when you say "your server" you were probably joining a MPUK hosted clan server. a clan pays for a server that they can administer how they see fit, if that includes kick-banning you, that's their call. multiplay just provide the server. if you want to take this up with anyone, it's the clan that admin that server.

It's no problem, there are many servers out there.
I would have thought that a password would have been an appropriate safeguard against casual observers...guess not!

Just thought I'd query it with those in the know:)

Indeed thats a clan server. Could be they where setting up a war or something.

It's not our own public server, it's a clan's server. I suggest you take it up with them. And no, we can't give out any contact details for them, sorry. Google and poss clanbase etc are your friends

Gents, may I humbly suggest that before the database crumbles to the knees under the assault of these threads, the naming convention is switched from:
Multiplay.co.uk :: [Clan Stuff]
to
[Clan Stuff] :: Rented From Multiplay.co.uk

(or hosted by, or provided by) and perhaps a server MOTD added where supported...?

tbh i was wondering if there was some dirty underhand campaign going on here

All of a sudden threads pop up left right and centre ranting at multiplay about a server or server admin. Which seem to 90% of the time turn out to be clan servers and not publics.

......im just overly suspicious i guess.

If you take a look at http://gaming.multiplay.co.uk and pick a game from the list on the left, you'll see the lovely categories that each server fits in to. :)

Clan Server = A clan server
Online server = A Multiplay public
