Computer Games Romania: More important, will Counter-Strike: Source be free for Half-Life 2 owners?
Doug Lombardi: It will be included with Half-Life 2.

Yes i think source is going to be the next steam, basically i think that when you sign up and download source you will have to enter your serial number and create an account.
Counterstrike better be free :P otherwise someones gonna get hurt.

Does anyone think that the old counterstrike could be better, not in such as graphics but in gameplay. Because from what i have seen from demo's and vids of the prototype the whole thing looks ok but it also looks very barren and not very cover provided?

Source is the game engine.
Steam is here to stay. All you do is register your cdkey of hl2 with steam and BOOM.

Also theres no way the "source" releases will be freebee's.
There has been alot of work put into the polished levels and models so id def pay for them all.

noone's going toforce you to buy anything. if steam really gets on your nerves, send an e-mail to valve saying why so they can change it for the better. personally, i'd prefer steam over a million system invading copy protections that require the cd in the drive.

as for whether cs could be better, sure it could. there's a million things you could change in every game to make it that little bit better. find a game you like and play it.
