What is it with this server?

I have now suffered the same fate as some others that have posted previously.

I have now been banned for no other reason than having a decent ratio - I hadn't tk'd, I hadn't been voted off, I had no banter with other players, I was given no warnings.

I know that Multiplay feel that nothing can be done about this, and wash their hands with it - and I can sort of understand why. However, I did read the posts by Bollockchops (in a previous thread), that I totally agreed with.

At least give us the details of how to contact these idiots - so we can voice our opinions to them.

Personally, I' m surprised that Multiplay will happily have their reputation tarnished by fools that can't run a server responsibly.

They lease the server, they pay for it and therfore can do pretty much what they like with it tbh. They dont force you to play there, and although its unquestionable that kicking players un-nessasarily is wrong - if the clan that PAY for the server wish to do it's thier choice, not multiplays.

the clan doesnt have to provide a way of being contacted if they dont want to be. and yes, they pay for it therefore they make the rules. if "Fiding will be banned on sight" is a rule, then so be it. theres nothing you or anyone else can do, its THEIR rule.

Ok, time for another official response methinks. :)

The server you are talking about IS a clanserver that is rented from us. Therefore we do not and never will have any control over how the people who rent it manage it. If they want to ban you they can.

Having said that, there is an alternative. Multiplay now have a public SOF2 server. This IS a public run by us and not a clanserver. You can find it at:

Indeed.... the data protection act protects personal data such as contact details.

Legally we cannot divulge such information to you unless they have already publicly made it available in somehting like a server join message.

I think you will agree that our legal requirements supercede your inconvenience in being kicked from one single server.

Even though its not a mpuk run server if its still mpuk branded any actions taken on it are still going to come back to yourselfs... ?? dunno what you can do to stop that though other then upping everyones servers costs to cover debranding

Actually Jez, the branding merely shows that the server is hosted by Multiplay. That's all. It doesn't mean because our name is on it, we are responsible for all actions on it.

That's not what he meant GeeDee. Just that branded servers with no contact details they're bound to contact us despite where responsibility lays.

thats just the general problem with being a gsp . At least you have better admins to deal with these issues compared to some that are "popular" . I got some pure hatred going for some jolt admins.
