In my semi-official capacity as an employee of the company that owns Bulldog, we've announced to the press that we are planning to roll out our own DSLAMs to a good number more BT exchanges this year, as we have done in London, so you may not need to live in London to get this deal, although I would caution you'll probably need to be in a city or large town.

That is GREAT news. Time to terminate my contract with BTOpenworld methinks.

Always knew Bulldog offered a reasonable high speed service but this is even better. Thanks for bringing to my attention.

I've been with Bulldog for over a year (2mb). Quality service so far with v reasonable pings and download speeds. Their phone checker says I can't get 4mb at the moment, but that may well be due to them cheekily noticing I already subscribe (or indeed the antiquated wiring in my apartment complex).

Will call and find out, 4mb is better than 2 after all :)

Woohoo...turns out i'm already in a Bulldog area. Hopefully this means their 4meg service will be making its way here soon.

Bulldog offer DSL connections through BT's Datastream wholesale product right now, pretty much everywhere BT have the ability to offer DSL.

This doesn't mean it's a location they'll be putting their own DSLAM this year. I hope once the rollout plan is finalised it'll be made public.

Well I've placed my order. This keeps getting better and better - I didn't realise there's virtually zero contention ratio also.
