Hi chaps.
Thought I would share this bit of news with you all despite it being about a month old :(
From CNCNZ.com
Generals.NL has posted a short Q&A with Mike Murphy (EAComMike), EA's online community manager, about the future patch support for Zero Hour. The question that sums it up can be seen below.
Generals.NL: Ok, So there will not be any further updates to ZH then? I thank you in advance for your time.
EAComMike: no, there won't be

Damn it, one of the most popular games aroudn and the yare no longer goign to update it.
thats bad, its still FULL of bugs, when palying on a small LAN with a 3 or 4 of us all using the same patchs after about 30 misn we usually get the old "the game has detected a miss match in syncronisation" or what ever it says message. We usually get this 4 out of 5 games.
They could at least fix that first :@

i think it's pretty simple. they're not going to see any return for a patch, no one is going to buy a copy just because it's got less issues. for a profit making publisher, it doesn't make sense to put the manpower into diagnosing, fixing, testing, and packaging the patch.
of course you'd like to boycott EA, but we all know what gamers do when presented with the latest game, don't we.
(i'm predicting lots of HL2 sales, and lots of bitching about it in the forums. regardless of whether people knew about issues beforehand)

And now there is a scud storm cheat/bug that you get and gives you unlimeted scuds, spoiling the game. EA definately need to fix that one!!!!!(in online mode)

you could all send e-mails to ea to let them know how you feel. it may not do any good, but you'll have more chance of getting things done than b|tching on a message board
The Generals series is good, but hey, forgetting about all the other games, there may be another C&C series being planned?

the C&C3 screenshot was actually revealed to be a concept for a possible sequel, scrin vs GDI. it's not in production, but just one of many ideas EA kick around to pass the time and spend their money. shame really, a) it could have been good and b) it would be a great moneyspinner owing to all the gamers that automatically buy games that have a reputation

hell, we all know that the C&C brand is nothing but a faceless moniker designed to promote sales since Westwood were canned... they only tagged it onto Generals to get it to sell more...
im honestly surprised they aren't calling the new LOTR RTS 'Command & Conquer : Battle for Middle Earth' (altho I spose theres still time yet  ) ...
I refuse to recognise the C&C brand until we see Tiberian Dusk or Red Alert 3...

there will be another C&C game
lets not forget that the team who worked on generals *was* the westwood studios team, just dissolved into the great hulking mass that is EA
EA eats other developers/publishers to add to its own
"rrrarrr we're EA you're all going to dieee........."
