I don't want to worry anyone, but we've had 3 earthquakes in the last 4 months, and 2 in the last week.
They measured 3.8, 4.2 and 5.2. Not huge, but with the epicentre on Basel's doorstep, it's enough to shift the buildings about and knock pictures off walls.
No problem so far, except that Basel was levelled by the largest central european quake on record in 1356 (it measured around 9). In 250 AD a roman city on the same spot was destroyed.

See the dark red bit in the middle by the kink in the river? That bit is estimated to receive 55-60% damage and has an alternate label of "certain death". That's where our house is.
It's fine though - Switzerland gets plenty of small quakes and nationally usually gets around 2 of the scale 4-5.
Erm... except, we've had 3 of these in four months in one town alone.
Now, either these quakes are the nice gentle settling-of-earth-to-ease-the-tension kind, or they're the slipping-slowly-to-make-room-for-the-big-one kind.
There's only only sensible explanation really. The apocalypse is coming and it's centred on Basel. I've done extensive research based on the frequency and magnitude of these earthquakes and have come to the conclusion that Basel will fall into the earth on August the 1st 2004.
So, in conclusion - can't wait to see you all at Basel 2k4, sure you'll have a wonderful time, don't forget your insurance.
