After a day of unloading and sorting out the stuff from StratLAN, I'm finally back online. Many thanks to all of you who attended the event. Definitely one of the best StratLAN's to date, and the majority of that is down to the people who attended. We can fling some cables around a building and setup some servers, but at the end of the day it's those who come who make a LAN what it is.

Big up respect to my partners in crime: BugAlugs, SquireMuldoon, Say_Ten and her0n. It was quite a bit harder work than the usual StratLANs, but then again it was like double the size :). I do think that the extra size only made for a more varied and fun atmosphere, without losing the "closeness" of the previous StratLAN events.

Roll on July, and more of the same! In the meantime, any feedback on the event and how we can make things better for next time is as always welcome.

Top notch lan, pld chief.

Most pleasing was Sunday's bout of football, with such evenly matched teams, and the score only being 2-1 after about 90 minutes of play. Really enjoyed that game.

Ah the football. To have a pickup game that remained 1-1 for the best part of an hour was scary. I swear it was 'next goal wins' for about 45 mins, and the darkness was definately making itself felt :)

Suggestion to make lan better:

Big sign on wall that says all the names of the underagers...
That way Exe doesn't have to worry about going to prison.

Exegesis - people are legal for drink at the age of 18 in this country so there inst much of a problem there
Sex - its 16 for hetrosexual sex
and not sure for like Homosexual so still there isnt much problem
nothing you do at a slan will arrested. tho there are some exceptions, including Arson :p:

But on another note, Slan was teh win

On that note I would like to mention there were indeed people at SLAN who were under the age of 18, this could still lead to my contributing to the alcoholism of a minor.

And in regards to the sex... I know it only effects me and no one else, but I'm held by a Status of Forces agreement that forbids me as an American within the United States Military to participate in Carnal Knowledge, AKA, sex with a minor (under 18) in any foreign country, at any given time, regardless of international laws.

LOL, i wouldn't expect anyone to cater to me for that reason though, but if someone sees me in a really drunken state hitting on someone under 18, say the code word "JAILBAIT".

Also, thanks for the tips on Arson, i'll be sure to keep that in mind at the next event.

lol the police have more to worry about kids getting served alcohol by shops than in private venues :p: in fact it's legal in your own home to have wine as long as you're over 5 years old!

also on the note of alcy, slan is a Private Function so failing you buying HUGE amounts of Alcy for a minnor and many minors getting VERY VERY drunk and causeing a nusence to the camping site or locals there isnt much that could happen (worst that could happen even here is that they would tell you to keep it down). i think the police are less strict in this country that the US they will act in Extream curcumatances. most party's ect that are held in Public venues (private events this is) dont have any problems with drinking, and in a pub they just throw you out :p:

Thanks Wizzo. Was a good lan that I enjoyed and the organisation and facilities were very good. Thanks to Bugalugs for running generals tourney and sorting teamspeak and stuff out for me. Meat was nice but can we have some chicken next time too?

meanwhile, just to add my sincere thanks to everyone who made that one of the best lans I've attended.

*- To Bugs for relocating me after the seating plan had gone titties upwards. (more about that later!).
*- To Towneh for the rib crushing/bruising/breaking hug/lift he gave me!
*- To Mandy for bringing the DDR stuff and giving me a chance to perform in public on it without looking a complete n00b. (well, ok, Dan was there, everyone else had deserted the social area by then).
*- To the other 8 people that joined in on my BF Vietnam server (yeah, crap game in most ppls opinion.. but the only one I'm good at) many thanks for the 6 hours of fun on the Friday night/ Saturday morning.
*- To Quietus (and others) for helping me out whenever I couldn't work out stuff for myself. Thanks Luke.
*- To everyone in the big CoD game for letting me get a 22-11 score in the deathmatch map ( a 2:1 k:d ratio \o/ )
*- To Lyn/Barney/Kil88 for being good peeps to sit with, much fun.
*- To Trackmania and all it's participants and track makers. A game of pure w1n. It seemed that there were ppl running a server for most of the event.
*- To anyone I've forgotten, it was such a good lan, so much happening, it's hard to remember it all. The attendees make it what it is, big slaps on the back for everyone.

and... finally..........

*- To Wizzo for being the 'Head Honcho', the man with 'The Meat of w1n' for putting together one of the best godamn Lans ever imo.

*- (as mentioned earlier) Bugs' rehashed seating plan, I ended up returning from a wedding on Saturday to find some guys had moved in next to me.. Habs and Kibit from the Mad as Badgers clan had arrived. Two more genuine, top geezas I couldn't ever wish to meet and sit next to tbh. Next time guys, I hope I'm sitting near you (although I shall be suitably armed with a large cork for the benefit of all who stray anywhere near Kibit and his windage problem from hell). ;)
