Most likely I can handle this. Exact time may be hard to judge due to work and friday afternoon traffic, but unless someone can guarantee pickup time, "I'll be there"

[traffic report]

ermm... don't forget the Motor Show is on.... Traffic will be ****! Plus there's 7 miles of roadworks south of the NEC on the M42 as you hwead towards the M40 and Stratford. Anyone heading down that way should SERIOUSLY think about missing the Airport/NEC area tbh.

Allow loads of extra time for getting to the Airport for pick-ups.

Also Junction 15 on the M40 the A46/M40/A429 big roundabout is currently in a stage of dire pain. You can expect 3 hr tailbacks if you are on the A roads that go over this point, between 16:00 and 19:30.

Also note that the M40/M42 interchange is also mostly taken hard !

if comming from brum airport head down the M42 to the M40 and take the A3400 to henly and then to Stratford its a direct road into the top of town and adds about 1mile to the journey.

Possibly bvark, maybe afty should call me if he is particularly being raped by traffic and i can leave work the little bit earlier. Im already doing another run for bfc at 6:25 so I guess it wont hurt.

Or for back road hax route...

A45 to Stonebridge Roundabout, head toward Balsall Common, go through Balsall Common then head toward Warwick. Follow the twisty omfg its countryside roads until there is a turn for Hampton Magna, just before the A46 Warwick island.

Go into an even deeper omfg its countryside road and then go B road style to Stratford following the signs. I warn you this is a very thin lane :P

Go Through Hampton on the Hill and then head towards Norton Lindsey. Then head toward Snitterfield, and then you should hit the A46 the other side of the OMFG Longbridge Island of Traffic Hell.

Once on the A46 you need to go in the back way to stratford for easiest access to racecourse.

^^ Should see what I mean on there.

You will skip all the said traffic and be there in plenty of time.

Demans route sounds both plausible and positively exciting... can we get confirmation from locals of the likely amount of traffic on this route (I thinking the particularly the bit just befor Warwick...?

If there's roadworks on the M42 from the airport down, I'd rather avoid them...

Yea its the route I take to the Airport from Kenilworth.

Traffic wise the A45 will be maybe queued a little but there is no way to avoid that due to MotorShow hax. The A45/M42 Roundabout is likely to be hellish at rushhour.

Stonebridge Island is the one directly after the M42 island heading toward Coventry. Take the dual carriage way toward Balsall Common which is usually always clear. Be careful of Police cars sitting in the lay-by's

Balsall Common will be 30-40 mph traffic maybe slower but this is a fairly main A road.

After that coming out of Balsall Common over traffic Lights. Now here you can take 2 options. One is to go straight on and go the route i described. The other is to turn right and head toward Solihull / Henley-on-Arden and go the route Jay described on the A3400. No clue which will be quicker tbh.

If you go straight on you will come to a split, straight on goes to Kenilworh which is where i live and only old age pensioners are allowed here. So what you want is the right feed and just follow the signs for Warwick. Its a 60mp A road with lots of over taking oppotunities for you townies in fast cars.

After that the Back roads are entirely your choice. However I must state taking the A46 Dual Carriage way at Warwick is an incredibly BAD idea. There is no other exit off before the Longbridge Island of Traffic Death and you will most likely have an Hour or 2 queue.

It's also good for bubba's prison ass bitch speeds on the bike, with a few lovely sweeping corners thrown in for good measure :)

Note that all comments regarding the stretch of the A46 between Warwick and the motorway are true. There was a fairly sizable queue of traffic there at 8:15 last night. You shouldn't even contemplate it at rush hour on a Friday. Jump on the A3400 instead.

Looks like my traffic reports have started something :)

Anyone coming up the M5 from South Wales, Glostershire, Zummerzet etc.... don't bother trying to go M5/M42/M40 for the same reasons.... leave the M5 at Worcester South (Junction 7) and follow the signs to Stratford from there.... and if you see a large white Rover 827Si hammering along that road with a handsome chap at the wheel... it won't be me. (prolly means some bast stole my car!) :p:
