Where to get City of Heroes

First of all you need to need to download it.
You can download either a ~800mb zip that has both cd's in, or a zip of each cd.

User: coh
Password: client

While you are doing this, go to http://www.cityofheroes.com
Press 'Account' and 'Create'.
This creates a PlayNC account who are the publishers of the game.
After that, go to the CoH homepage again and press 'Account', 'Manage' then 'Purchase'.

This is currently the only way of getting the game in Europe as it is not on sale here yet, please note this does not work if you live in North America - you must purchase a boxed copy of the game from a retailer.
If you desperately want a boxed copy, then there are copies for sale on ebay or you can import it, but be aware you may be charged import tax for doing so.

so happy now that I'll have it in half the time so it looks like it could be a late night tonight!!

in a way I'm hoping it's not done by the time i go to bed as I've gotta be up at 6 to get to work, oh well, I maybe feelign a little ill tomorrow at this rate and just have to stay at home all day ;)

OK I cannot work out how to get this game. Their site is absolutely fkin bobbins.

Once I have an account if I click on *ANY* of the purchase links I can find on their site it takes me to this page:

I do not understand what to do next, my only options *appear* to be to order it via mail from a US outlet?

Right Afty this is how you dl it online...
Go into your account and click on Purchase code, then choose CoH, then after you've payed and written down the code you get to dl the file after you add it as a game to your account, if you have any more probs catch me or luci on irc or something :p:

Aha. That made alot more sense.

The "PURCHASE" button took me to buy a physical copy of the game, but on the account welcome screen (not the menu or anywhere else) there was an obscure "Purchase Code" text link.... cheers :)

This had better be good, I just spend 25 smackers on it, and Im yet to subsribe!

think you might have missed the boat on this one. was cracking game for a while but i think it got a bit tedious for most people. i still have my account but i havnt updated it in months.

Aha, I see. My maths rocks. It's almost the equivalent of doing 2 - 1 and getting it wrong.

OK, I've played around and done a few levels on a char, seems fun so far.

Anyone want to suggest what kind of class I should be to complement the others in our group... I haven't spotted a Scrapper yet?

I'll then get the char levelled up to 3 for Thurs.,

I'm not sure if they've implemented the sarcastic bastard class yet, so probably some form of tanker which gets you the "taunt" ability...

Levelling the character to level 3 takes about 25-30 minutes IIRC.

We play on union server. Nice Website :)

Its a shame we started on Defiant but one of our friends had a high lvl char on Union so we moved over.
