Pros: It's fun. Huge game world. Seems like good support for expanding in the future. Oh, and .BFC. play it.

Cons: Like all MMORPG's it's horribly addictive and you need to pay monthly. You can only attack AI, not other players, which some people don't like.

There is an expansion planned now (Just announced at E3) allowing players to be villains to, and will introduce PvP if you're into that.

It's not a 'hardcore' mmorpg from the few hours I saw last night, nothing like EQ etc, a much more simplified game (that's not a bad thing), for instance there's no worrying about having to constantly upgrade armour/weapons because there isn't any!

Best thing to do russ, is grab download a copy of the game from er..the link I can't remember (grab me on irc tonight for linkage).
Then either wait until stratlan and see what's it like, or pester Zak or someone to let you play on their account for a few hours.
I'd offer mine, but I'll be using it during the evenings :)
Not that I condone account sharing of course....

Pros - It lets you make characters with underpants on the outside

Cons - you have to pay for the priviledge

Basically it's like any other MMORPG except they got rid of all the crappy classes and binned crafting (why anyone wants to use their virtual character for 16 hours of mouseclicking to build a virtual curtain rail or what have you is beyond me). They also sped up combat and sorted some quality grouping systems. And you can fly, and Bvark can teleport you into the middle of a group of enemies, then laugh, frequently.

My favourite part of the game is watching people run all the way up a 30 storey fire exit, and then teleporting them to the bottom it.

Of course, I'm part of the .BFC. supergroup, although blue pvc isn't quite the same.
