View Full Version : Cinema trip anyone?
Zero5

Well it appears that film called "the Day After Tomorrow" is relaeses the Day BEFORE Stratlan. I propose a mass trip to the cinema like when the matrix came out. It should include going to the farthest cinema away and a select few getting lost. Just like before. Sounds rubbish huh? I knew you'd say that So I took the precation of setting a lock down on my computer to stop me from looking at your hurtful remarks and mean comments about my sexuality. But then again this is Multiplay. What to do, what to do.
Stop rambling boy!!! 2 weeks to go!!!

"well the people coming only accept it large"

Aye I've already chcuked this idea around with a few people and it was a resounding yes!
Although someone needs to take control of it and organise it.. alla Rocketknight and bowling EAS of i16 :)

to see Shrek 2 i presume :D
I should like to register my interest for proposed mass outing. This film is made by the director of Independance Day and looks to be brilliant.
Its a gigantic storm wrecking NY film, no major actors as far as ive seen, so more cash spent on effects and plot ...

The fact that the director ispartly responsible for Independance Day and Godzilla does NOT bode well.
All of his films with the possible exception of Stargate, have been grade 'A' tripe.
I admit, I really do want to see this movie. The trailers make it look very good... but that's what they are designed to do. Intellectually however, I'm preparing to be disapointed.
Oh, and one more thing. If at some point during the film there is a rousing speech and the phrase "God bless America!" (or something similar) escapes the protagonists lips, I think I will be physically sick.

Urg I agree about the whole patriotism thing its really annoys me. They better show some othe countries getting destroyed as when disaster movies only happen in The US it annoyme aswell.

Sounds like a good plan but which cinema where you planning on? Only decent one in the area that will likely be able to house so many people is Star City in Birmingham being a 32? screen superb place. However it also gets incredibly busy at a weekend.
Maybe Solihull UCI, nice sound aged a bit mind.
Coventry has a bunch.
Please don't contemplate Leamington Spa Apollo.
Stratford Picture house is erm.....

Solihul UCI.
which incdently is a ****e cinema, however easy it is to get to.
Money would be better spent going to the Rubery UGC.

10 minutes more driving from Solihull UCI which is certainly aged now is the far superior Star City.
Plus the fact Star City has bars and food places as well as vast amounts of screens has to be the winner.
Mingtea

Sutton coalfield... 10 mins from Sollihul.
How do you figure that?

Guys, I'm not going to Stratlan, but if your going to Rubery or Star City, it would be RUDE not to join you all. Given its 20 minutes on the bus :)
(i'm next to the edgebaston cricket ground BTW)
And star city does indeed rock. MMM Leg room
Actually, thinking about it, i might see if i can make it for a single day as a speccy.

Yes Steve, now that you are a mere bus journey from Stratlan, it would be VERY rude of you not to join us. :)

Twould be sensible to get everyone to book their tickets on saturday morning once we've all arrived...
Mamacita

OK, I'll take charge of this one
I'll book tickets during Friday night at SLAN for Star City, Birmingham to see TDAT on the Saturday
The showing times on Saturday are:
11.30am (sleeping, I presume)
2.30pm
5.30pm (will we miss dinner?)
8.30pm (no way, drinking pls)
11.30pm (no way, tiddly please)
The most sensible time to go in my opinion is 2.30pm, so we are back for BBQ goodness, but thoughts please.
Please, if you want to go, but will not arrive at SLAN til the Saturday, let me know in advance and I'll add you to the booking

Its more likely to be a train jorney, and just one day.
If its 2:30, hmm, i dunno. the A38 (queensway / leet motorway through the center of brum) isn't likely to be too busy. What route would people be taking? Its sort of temping to get there about 10ish and just get dropped somewhere around the center of brum, it'd save an hour back on the train, but that said leaving a little soon.
/me shrugs.
Anyway, if its on the saturday, its not like to have to book train tickets. (Its a whole £2.65 for the train there!)

The only reason she can't have Muse on in the car is because my Stereo is ****ed. Anyway, I need her for NavHax. Also, I agree, seems silly going all the way to Star City just for a film tbh

you ARE taking the piss?
Star City is bloody horrible!
id advice the showcase cinema about 15 mins down the road, its cheaper, nicer and right outside uve got a Maccy'D, BK and KFC
but then Bham is a fair distance away.
/me Raises his hand in the air for Gunsmiths suggestion.
Gunsmith
24th May 2004, 11:35
was that for it being in bham or the fact we have food right outside?
The fact that it's only 15 mins away, food is a bonus.
It's only a three day LARN and I have a BAJILLION things to spank people at, I don't want to waste an extra four seconds going to a further cinema if I can avoid it :)
