Ello, not really been to big lan before since theres nothin like it round ere (Manchester area).
Probly gona go to i20 and i21 but they seem kinda far off and StratLAN looks fun but its also kinda small so im just curious if it was an insider thing, do you take kindly to strangers?
Me n my m8 jus wanna go n do some hardcore gaming n have a laugh but ive not really got much reputation on these forums ;D
im the same Aerodynamic

There is no such thing as a stranger at StratLAN, just a new friend we haven't met yet.
Ignore any shouts of "fresh meat" you may hear, it's just people crying out for sausages.

first: hi.
second: you will love both MPUK events.
Stratlan is 50-100ppl, i-series is anything up to and over 1,000
thirdly: There are several LANS in Manchester, they are just somewhat obscure and hard to find. I dont have any links im afraid but your best bit is to keep an eye out in one of the cyber cafe's in town (I believe what used to be Cyberia near St Peters Sqaure is one of the main hubs - aswell as anything along Oxford road)
fourthly: There's a few of us who travel from Manchester (4 or 5), if you can drive you might want to add yourself to our "pool" of drivers, if you can't then get to know us and we might even give you a lift down if we have room :p:
Elbonio i did not realise that you lived in/near manchester, i now know were i can get a lift!!!!
I often go to lans on my own because my friends cant make it, that makes it more fun, no one knows who you are, so you can show your self, me at i19 can third in the savage torni despite not playing anything online for 3 years, take it as anopertunity its all fun

Thx for welcome :]
Even though ive just turned 18, I'm still not managing to get enough money together for a car but my m8 will be driving by the end of Summer.
A lift would be great since we were originally intending to get an economy plane to stansted then a train to wherever Newbury is but they wont let us take monitors on board :/
We are able to pay all fuel costs and were friendly enough to make conversation on the long journey ;D

Failing that you can hire monitors but get in early ;p

hmm well i dont know if *i* have a car yet!
and i wont be paying (not quite sure what WITH yet...) until like a week before the event or something so if you really want to go, try and find a way down there now, just in case i cant go
dont rely on me going is what i'm saying (though I am doing everything i can to get myself there)

PS. if you hear Fresh MEAT! its advisable to stand with your back to the wall...this is to avoide the stampede to gain access to the 'Meat' First
