You probably arnt banned, just youve been told you have because the removal messages royally suck at the moment.

Here's a few things to check first...

1) Were you idling while the game was in progress? The servers are setup to kick you if you dont move the mouse for 30seconds.

2) Were you idling while the game was waiting to start? The RPG Invasion server has kick voting enabled, and if you don't click to start after a while, people will vote for you to be kicked out.

3) Were you being a moron/lamer/teamkiller? Because I'll kick you out if you were, but generally i'll give you a warning then kick you out.

4) Can you connect to any other of the MultiplayUK public servers? Because if I ban you, you'll be banned from all our publics. List here - http://gaming.multiplay.co.uk/?p=/serverlist.php%3Fsectionid%3D435

5) Have you tried joining the server you were "banned" from since? Because at present all our bans are permanent ones.

6) Do you have any custom voicepacks installed? If you do your going to need to uninstall them until Dr.Sin fix's UTSecure otherwise youll just be kicked out by it.

7) Have you changed or replaced the playerskins file? If you have AntiTCC/UTSecure will kick you out because your using a skin hack. Question is, have you replaced it? Also what operating system are you using? As there are a few issues with the Mac version of the game.

PlayerSkins file can be found in the Textures directory and should be this size...

Size: 104 MB (109,093,914 bytes)
Size on Disk: 104 MB (109,096,960 bytes)

If yours differs from this the server will have you removed as its not the file which was distrubuted with the game. Also for a final check load up a command prompt, browse to your Unreal Tournament 2004 System directory and run this command...

C:\Unreal Tournament 2004\System>ucc mastermd5 -q ../Textures/PlayerSkins.utx
Executing Class Engine.MasterMD5Commandlet
==================================================
MD5 Database Management
==================================================

Performing Quick MD5 on ../Textures/PlayerSkins.utx

MD5 = [db866b469c2661111abb221f3b51a450]

Success - 0 error(s), 0 warning(s)

If the MD5 does not equal that of above you need to restore the PlayerSkins file from your cd's again. This should be done like this...

Copy PlayerSkins.utx.uz2 out of the CD6/Texture folder on your UT2004 DVD to your System folder of your installed UT2004. Then run this command..

ucc decompress PlayerSkins.utx.uz2

It will then decompress the PlayerSkins.utx file to your Sytem directory, simply then move this into your Texture directory.

8) Finally, were you being an absolute twonk and using an aimbot? ;P If you were you'll find yourself banned by the UTAN system.

If you still can't join the server after this, your either banned permanently (and you should know why) or theres a problem with your client. Please post here if you cannot connect to our servers.

I wish they would sort this out. I get at least 2 emails a day from players complaining they've been banned from my server.

they must develop a system that shoots people who use aim bots in real life, that will teach them.

There is a patch now that fixes the md5 issues on the Mac version. Quite how they got the md5 hashes to match accross operating systems I'll never know.

This is Epic we're talking about Chris, not Valve :) They have some idea on how to program.

While I dont play UT2004 i thought id comment on the part you said with file sizes.

PlayerSkins file can be found in the Textures directory and should be this size...

Size: 104 MB (109,093,914 bytes)
Size on Disk: 104 MB (109,096,960 bytes)

Since I use XP i can only comment on that but if you have you drives formatted with NTFS File and Format compression the size on the disk can be less than the real size.

Does the system detect this at all?

The size perameter and the size on disk perameter are simply the physicial size of the file. And the size of the file and the file allocation table entry for it.
