I'm flying to southampton and getting a lift from there.
Flight was £50 return.
Cheaper than the train.
I doubt the Bus will run.

You can always fly to southampton and get a train from there.
Or i may be able to get you a lift with who i'm going with depending on what flight you get.
Southampton Airport Parkway is the station you want, and as the name suggests, it's quite literally right on the airport's doorstep.
from there what you will need to do is get a train to either reading or basingstoke, change and then get one to newbury or newbury racecourse (depending on how far you like walking :p: ). trains stopping at newbury are more frequent as the racecourse station is only a minor one.
hope that helps!
the train line (http://www.thetrainline.com) will help for train times etc :)

I regularly fly from Edinburgh.
I fly to Heathrow with BMI (http://www.flybmi.com). Then, come out the UK part of the terminal, down one floor in the lifts, and left as you come out the lifts, this gets you to the buses to Reading.
Have £20 in cash, and get a return, because that saves you £3 (£10 single, £17 return). Get the bus to Reading. Then, go into the station at Reading, and go through the ticket barriers, out to the first platform and turn left. Go all the way up to the end. The trains for Newbury depart from one of the small platforms at the end (usually).
The flight takes 45mins of airport ****ing bout, 1hr flight time, and about 20mins ****ing about at heathrow.
The bus to Reading takes 30/40mins.
The train from Reading to Newbury takes 15/20mins.
Once at Newbury, get off at the racecourse if you can (but trains don't stop at that station late, which is when I usually arrive). If you miss it, get a taxi from Newbury (costs about £5 and takes 5mins).

your best method of of arriving if you do not possess transportation of your own is by train... to call at Newbury Racecourse.. now this is my first time at a LAN party so in exchange I can help out a few people with a lift from Newbury main station..after I set up. just send me an e-mail and I will do what I can.

magic man, just we figured we could spend 80 quid on the train or 40 quid on the plane then another 40 to get to the event. It'll cut about 7 hours off the journey time too.
