Okay you HAVE to loose one of the 5 senses
which is it?
For those who didnt go to primary school the five senses are:
Vision
Hearing
Touch
Smell
Taste
Smell and taste are odd ones becuase if you get rid of smell, your taste goes aswell...
however getting rid of taste does not mean your sense of smell goes...
Which one would you pick?
Think about it - loose sight and films, games etc would be useless to you...
Loose sound and music would be gone
Loose touch and you'll never know what it's like to feel someone else close to you... plus you'd probably burn your hands on cookers and stuff
loose smell and not only can you not smell your food, but you cant taste it either - plus you wont be able to smell the smell of petrol, fresh cut grass or teabags ever again...
loose taste and you'll never be able to taste pizza again...
tough decision
"none" is not an option...

I'd choose touch. It's the only one I could do without I think.

I dont think i could handle that
Although it pains me to do it but i chose taste....
gahhh i hope it never happens tbh - i couldnt handle it...

I already have a poorly developed sense of smell, so I know what it would be like.
Smell.
As for losing smell and losing taste, you don't lose ALL taste. You just need food with a lot more flavour.

I'd lose smell. I'd miss out on such lovely smells as baking bread, seaside air, the airing cupboard, but it is something I could manage without. It wouldn't necessarily impair my functions.
Unless I had a gas leak.

i think i would go with taste as well, in terms of most vital i think taste is the least most vital.

I think I'd rather lose the sense you didn't post on there...
Common sense 8)
For the actual 5 senses I chose taste...I certainly couldn't live without the others. At least with taste everything you eat would be the same...even the stuff you don't like eating...

Smell, it's a fairly useless sense in my opinion as there are equally bad smells and good smells.
Vision is obviously the primary sense as it gives us so much more stimulation *aherm* than the rest.
I can't imagine how you could do without touch  You'd be virtually paralysed and unable to use your beloved nerd machines!

Taste. That way i would be able to eat more healthy foods and not give a damn.

but taste is vital to know when we're eating something poisonous

I chose touch but you wouldn't be paralysed all you would lose is the sensation of tounching things, its not like you'd have no habds.

losing touch would mean you wouldnt know if you had moved or not, you couldnt tell if you had pressed a key, unless it bleped or you watched it move. You wouldnt know if you had applied the breaks on your car, and if you were gonna stop. Touch is so important its rediclus. Touch and taste, as long as you know what ur eating, its more of a luxary and therefor more easily disposable. As you get older you lose around 70 % of your tast buds any anaway. Ponder.

Probably smell, just think, you'd never have to hold your nose when walking down the isles of an i-series again.

Smell, the pros almost outweigh the cons :D

Not at all, smelling petrol or gas is pretty damn vital! :)

Not THAT vital. I'm sure you could go your entire life without escaping a major explosion by smelling gas.
<no clever comments about failing to escape being the end of your life. So hush>

I've got such a poor sense of smell anyway, I might as well not have it.

I beg to differ as i HAVE NO SENSE OF SMELL yet can still taste, cope fine, have never smelled anything, probly never will, cant say i care much, most smells are bad from what i hear.

I refuse to vote until you spell 'lose' correctly. Ok so I voted for smell anyway. I've considered this is the past, but usually as a more restricted 'sight or hearing' type of thought. I love my music fanatically, but sight is such a vital component of my life that I'd have to lose hearing given those two choices.

I would rather lose sight, and don't ask me why :)

Lost hearing twice so far its not good, Lost of sight would have me considering suicide, Taste-i like meh food, Touch-Gaming would suffer as would other stuff ;-). So smell it is.

Don't you think we're lucky to be able to wonder about this subject, which would you 'prefer' to lose...Some people have no choice. :|
I'm finding it hard to decide because all i can think about is people who have been blind or deaf all their lives....deaf people have never heard music....never heard children playing in the street, but they dont worry about it too much about missing those sounds...cos they've never heard, them yknow?
But to have lived your life and to suddenly lose a sense through an accident would be utterly devastating, dont you think?
I'm leaning towards losing my hearing, but id miss my music too much. Id miss hearing a lover whsipering in my ear, the sound of sausages sizzling in the pan....
Im pretty blind as it is without my glasses, but not being able to see anything, at all...to live in a world of darkness....scary.
I'm gonna wuss out and choose taste, cos then at least i could eat my greens and my mum'd be happy.
