At work placement and BORED!

I've got to spend all day browseing the internet cus their is nothing to do and on top of that, I CAN'T USE IRC!!!

They have blocked IRC on these comps so if anyone has any ideas on how I can get around this would be greatly appriciated as currently I have NO ONE to talk to and I sware my brain is rotting as we speak.

I think there's some form of JAVA IRC web client that plugs you straight into #multiplay.

Cant' remember where it is though. Anyone else?

yeah I know some java clients but it's hard to find one that will alow me to connect to what server and channel I want.

Ok that worked perfectly for about 5 seconds then I got G-lined.... WTF???

It's being used by about 10,000 other people. Which is a bit of a pisser considering it's allowed 5 connections before it gets g-lined for clones.

Speak to GeeDee, he might be able to sort something out for you.

it's already been looked through and said that it's exactly what they wanted and to just do what you want to till the end of the day.

I've done all the days work and now i'm most likely going to kill myself during lunch..... mmmmm lunch!

They're probably expecting you to use your initiative and find some work for yourself or improve what you've already done.

If someone tells you to do what you like or browse the web for the rest of the day, it's unlikely they mean it literally... and even if they do, it'll look good to get on with something, and you'll be a lot less bored.

quick reply, not sure if you still need this, but as it's the first time i've read the forums in ages:

on port 8080
it's a quakenet server

will get past most blocking stuff, as 8080 is the alternative http port and it's usually unblocked, works in my uni and they one of the strictest i've seen.
