Doing it is a bit pointless now, some of the levels involve running executables that point at servers that no longer exist, and IIRC one of them involves interacting with an IRC bot - which I also believe is no longer running.

It's been redone fairly recently Afty. IRC bots asside, the ones that rely on connecting to servers all seem to work.

wait, how are people noobs if you cant get past level 1?
I assumed it would be following normal computer 'lore' and was using stuff like 'password', 'administrator' and '123456' for the password, not 'h4x0r'...

the right click thing is sooo st00pid, I got past that in 2seconds (even though it's not really a lvl, it's still something i got around :D) just right click and hold the button down, then left click on the OK of the window that popped up and then release the right button, voila :p:

The key word there being h4x0r :P
I'm stuck on lvl3, in the script it says the pwd being AbCdE, but that doesn't work?!?!
If you wanted to do it yourself, just right click and click view source, then have a sniff around... you'll find something soon

heh, not seen this in years. Not sure how much it's changed, but iirc to get past level 3 you have to look closely at the metatags.

Anybody else not just sat back and thought "WHY THE F*CK WOULD I BOTHER?".
I have far more worthwhile things to do with my life believe it or not.
Hell if you want to "hack" seek advice and learn to do it properly you ****tards.

From level 3 onwards I started using decompilers...
However level 6 uses VB6 which apparently cannot be decompiled...
Being a techie, but not a programmer or a hacker, I am now officially giving up :D - can anyone give me a hint?
edit: ooo - I'm guessing you need to analyse the IP traffic somehow?
It's all so exciting! lol

Level 1 is ridiculously easy, and is a common flaw in client side web security. If you don't know it, then that pretty much classifies you as a"newbie"
Asterix
17th April 2004, 16:50
Um i finished it in about 45 mins does that make me n 1337 h4x0r
?? LMAO
Level 3 doesnt list the proper password in the html script BUT it does list a URL.....
Level 6 doesnt need to be decompiled, it uses web based authentication, if you know about ftp authentication etc you'll know that passwords and other data are sent via TCP/IP in clear text....

You are a l33t h4x0r if you get into a nuclear defense computer system and successfully flash up a solitaire session on someone's active session.
Completing some riddles on a website hardly qualifies as basic skillz ...

Level 8 is vaguely technical. None of the others are.
