get this... stuck in a forest full of Trigens armed with an M4 with only 10 ****ing bullets... wtf were Crytek thinking...

this ranks up with Xen as one of the stupidest end-of-game things ever...

anyone actually know any non-cheating way to get thro it?

and dont say 'stay under the water'... if I do that I either get shot by that monkey thing or I drown...

No offence intended here, but you can hardly blame the publishers for doing something "stupid" when actually the word you're looking for is "hard".

Loads of other people seem to have managed it fine...

There is a 'way' through the forest. That's all i'll say ;)

Actually... there are several ways through.

Its all about stealth and misdirection.

Dont forget, you have an infinite number of rocks (grenade type) to throw. Use them to distract the trigens. Oh... and crawl a lot and use the bushes.

**** BIG SPOILER ****

Getting past the first trigen and jumping over the cliff should be a piece of piss. Dont shoot him, just run past him and jump.

During your descent, you should have a second or 2 to scout out the lay of the land.... you should notice a helicoptor in the distance. Thats your target destination.

When you splash down, exit the river on the left bank. Crawl round between the monkey man on the beach up ahead and the big bastard further up the hill on the left. If you get spotted, there are some rocks just a little further up ahead on the embankment where it begins to narrow. Leg it, and hide by the rocks till your "alert" meter drops to 0.

Just beyond the rocks, you want to cross the river/stream. There should be a hill on the right bank.... go up it. And from here, its nearly plain sailing. Trigen numbers thin considerably, and you should be able to see the wrecked chopper, and get to it fairly easily. Once you get in, have fun :)


Oh... and if you think thats fun, you wait till the last level.
I gave up in the end and cheated. I simply cannot see how anyone could manage to do it without any health or armour pickups.

ok, just finished the game, without resorting to cheating :)

I used Muldoons advice and took the left bank... I didn't notice it was there before (thought the huge rock went all the way along)

and yes, that whole inside the volcano bit is annoying as hell, but theres an easy way...

as soon as you get into the area, hide by the door so when the Fatboy comes along, he doesn't see you... spring out on him and empty an entire clip from the OICW into his head...

the crucial part is that you kill him before he finishes the roar he does, because then the other Fatboys don't come out of the garage if you kill him in time, leaving you to mop up the jumping fools... You can then take the Fatboys in the garage at your leisure and activate the lift... also then chuck a load of grenades and rockets up into the area full of humans protecting Doyle...

the structure in the mouth of the volcano was a bitch and the final bad guys guards were a little trigger happy with RL's

but overall im V impressed at the game, nice and challenging. time to do it on hard this time :)

Whenever I tried it, the big bastard would always stand in the entrance even tho I was hidden. He never turned round and I could never kill him with just the one clip. Damn.

nah, he doesn't turn around...

you really have to sprint out, stand right in front of him and pump every single round into his face until he suffers brain death... when he's standing around shouting he wont fire, giving you enuff time to kill him...

use the shotgun and aim for the face, the force will cause him to lose balance, so take advantage of it and pump him with another

if u run out of shells in the clip and he's still standing, OICW him

repeat for the rest of the fat sods the snipe thes springy bastards

Ah that bit that had me for ages. Was about to give in when I discovered the machine gun in the armory ( never had it before that ) which makes quite light work of the big ones.
Took far left and far right bouncers out with the sniper. Then the first big guy with the machine gun. Then another bouncer with the sniper followed by the remaining bug guys with the machine gun.
Trying with the assault gun was just painful although I did manage to make it to the other side the level once with it :P
