So we are STILL on patch 1.02 and the game STILL has problems. EA are absolutely APPALLING in supporting this game.

This evening I played three games with Ryvita. One game Ryvita's machine bombed out, the next two games we got a Game Mismatch error after both games had run on for some time. We were compstomping so it wasn't a player selling a building weirdly or something odd like that.

Ryv also mentioned he got the Hax Rocket Troopers bug affect him a couple times in his last games, which is a stupid, crazy bug.

I am so incredibly pissed off with EA not sorting this out, I have posted on their 'official' forums many a time and had naff all response. They have given me the clear impression they do not give a toss and are in it for the money only. This lack of after-sales support is criminal, and I feel sorry for the developers.. oh hang on, aren't they EA as well? Grrr... this game is rubbing off so badly on them for me, I won't be supporting their **** in future unless it's bug-checked and working FROM THE FIRST SHOP RELEASE. Anyone who played Generals (not zerohour, the original) from the first version will remember just how bad their online system was.

edit: After looking at the official forum, I see the latest announcement was Dec 15th claiming "the 1.01 patch is now available". jesus christ.

One pissed off Generals player signing off ..

EA have been nothing but money grabbing horse flogging bandits since the first FIFA sequel...

Oh god yeah, I remember around Juneish time, online Generals was crap... always unsynced causing the game to end.. and also it took ages to even get a game going, cos the people kept on talking when the game was checking the connections etc... so it gave the firewall error message and it binned everyone. It is a good game tho, for those people who like to actually think a bit, rather than going around blasting everything to smitherines ;)

pretty much banged the nail on the head there andyf. EA have the worst reputation for supporting their games IMO, once it ceases to be a cash cow, they move the team onto something else *cough* BF:V *cough*. what's annoying is how they throw money at things (like (probably) buying shelf space in PC world especially for their games, and (probably) making sure that minimal stock of competing games on launch days *cough* BF:V vs UT2004 *cough*), buying great developers *cough* westwood *cough* for borg like assimilation, and big adverts. they're not the only publisher guilt of this *cough* interplay (canning fallout 3 - FOOLS), atari (enter the matrix), ubisoft (need i say?) *cough*, but EA deserve the Evil Alliance joke that monolith gave them most.

i feel better for that. must be something wrong with my throat *ARSE*, ahh thats better...
