Vague plan discussed on IRC: MPUK karting fun :)
Now we could piggyback this on to an i-series, as more than an hour of karting gets both expensive and tiring :) So suggestions for outdoor, or LARGE indoor tracks nearish to Newbury would be handy. No pissant tiny indoor ones please!
Gentlemen (and ladies!), start your engines! :D

Lydd is an actual international kart track Firestorm, it would be like hiring Old Trafford for a friendly kickabout :)
And anyone who calls it 'carting' is banned. BANNED I SAY!

Couldn't you all just get onto the racetrack?
You'd have to move a few fences mind. Or maybe not, could make it more fun ;)

Thruxton (http://www.thruxtonracing.co.uk/karting.html) is about 45 mins away, which has a superb kart track.
However, I have doubts that doing this alongside an i-series would be a good idea. First of all, it's by no means cheap. £75 per head for a 2 hour group event at a weekend (£65 on a week day). Second, an hour in a kart will hurt in the morning, even more so without sleeping in a proper bed.
Thruxton also has a minimum driver age of 17.
It would rock though. :)

i think finding some indoor karting warehouse would definitely be better than going to some huge outdoor track for a few hours... It's especially good when you can see the whole track...

No, because they're about as wide as a single kart, hence impossible to pass on. A Bad Thing, I think you'll find :)

well indoor tracks made with tyre's can be 'Widened' or 'Streached' (word change depending on your prefered type of Man-Love)
and surly there has to be a good one somewhere near!
hmmm there was a good karting event that took place with the car club i'm in, I'll find the details. It was an outdoor event and went on for a good while.
yeh up for this, should be fun.
ps: andyf you need a new avatar now, having an old man s14 and all :)
I'm in too, used to be ace at karting, just didnt have the cash to carry on :)

Just a taster from the 'GPLers against the world' karting enduro last December. I call this one 'spot the woman driver' (http://www.borntorace.co.uk/urs_2003_vid/Amnon%20off.WMV) :D
