Well Baz has posted the letter, this morning in fact. Which means the cheque will be here on Monday as it only left this morning and as I'm at uni it won't be sorted till then because of the weekend. Which means I then have to post the cheque back to Intelligent Finance. Which then has to be sorted and processed. And its 3 working days at the fastest. So I can see my money being in my bank account not this Monday coming, but the one after. Great stuff. :rolleyes:

Thanks again to Lord Egg, who has joined me in this wonderous age of technology and embraced online banking. It took approximately 15 minutes from the time he clicked send for the money to be in my bank account. :p:

If I ever do this again (heh) I'll be taking bookings only from people who have online banking. Cheques are SO much f*cking hassle.

Second Alton Towers Recon Trip

Yes, after the fun of the last one, I went back to the hotel on the 9th-10th June, staying in Splash Landings with Gunsmith, Noodleman and Wise_Washu. Some things have changed a bit...

A new fountain/water feature has been added to the main part of Cariba Creek. THere are also new wristbands for the pool, which are more like the paper ones that guest services gave myself, Noodleman and Toptotty last year. They still have the barcode on them for phtoos on Master Blaster.

The chess set has had missing peices replaced, but however, has lost one of the black knights. Noodleman beat Wise_Washu in midnight Champagne chess. The evening cabaret consists of Tanya (You know who I mean) and her knife-edge sharp wit and humour. There was also the wonderful Becky. Mmmmm. I'm sure Gunsmith will upload some photos somewhere.

The bar was nice, and they didn't object to an increasingly less sober Noodleman asking the waiter to fetch him more champagne and then try and make the cork of the champagne go down the aforementioned Becky's top.

The all you can eat buffet was, once again, full of teh EXPENSIVE win. Service was A1 standard though, with empty plates cleared away in seconds. The games room has been enlarged, with TWO DDR machiens (Both Euromix 2) in there.

Now onto the park. The park is looking in the best shape I've seen it for years. No rubbish and little chewing gum. It's the minor things that annoy me, such as the broken lightbulbs on Hex, Oblivion needing a repaint and the Nemesis waterfalls need cleaning out and turning on. The rapids are running better than ever and Nemesis is giving a nice smooth ride.

Since we will be in the hotel, we can use the early entrance path, there is a way to h4x this though :) When they are saying to people to meet in the lobby of the hotel, don't. Just before this, whenever you feel like it, wander down the path anyway. The entrance, if you have forgotten, is in the back garden of the Alton Towers hotel. Walk down, show ticket, walk into park.

Cred Street is more or less closed for development, the current rumours say it will become Jazzland. The new ride Spinball Whizzer is fully operational and fixed. For those of you who are good at golf, nto only is there a 'get a hole in one and win a car' competition, where the green is a SMALL island in the middle of the lake, but there is now another Golf game in forbidden valley, where if you get a whole in one putting, then you win £150. The Euromix 2 DDR machine in X-Sector is giving 3 rounds for £1.

All in all, we are on for an incredible trip this year!

Failing that if there's not enough for a room, and people want to visit, they could come for the final day in the park - if people feel it's a bit far too travel in one day, I live less than an hour away so I could pickup people from the station in the morning, put them up (max 3/4) at my place in the evening, accompanied by a drinking session in Manchester or Wilmslow, and then drop at the train station in Manc or Wilmslow where they could get home from (probs cost an extra fiver to get back to the station the return ticket is from...)

Most of them are/do. The ski trip for example has special bank accounts, mailing lists etc. but this is because it's all organised centrally.
AT isn't, it's just groups of people renting rooms so there's no trip manager as such to do that.

It would be nice though, if the room organisers could confirm on this thread room attendance etc. so we *do* know how many are going, and who..

gah, i can't keep up with this thread. Are there any plans to drive up early to alton mc towers and stay in stratford upon avon again? or are we all just finding our own way there?

Currently i'm not sure if i'm going to be able to come, i've just started a temp full time job before i go back to uni, but i'm asking about havin the 12 - 14th off today. I assume that the tickets allow us into the park from the 12th? Its a 5 hour drive for me, so some place to stop off for the night before would be apreciated, instead of driving to the park at 4am or whatever :)
